There were actually options as far as engine in 1985 - 1989. LG4, L69, LB9, L03, and B2L. In 1990, you could only get TPI IROC's.

Yes, in 1985 and 1986. IROC-Z was merely a suspension upgrade on a Z28, and the LG4 was the base Z28 engine.
