the obnoxious sounding mustang that has/had the BASF sticker on it on this board? I think I saw it today on the way back from the funeral, and I'm still trying to figure out why it sounds like it has a series of mangled trombone parts for mufflers.

Never heard an odder exhaust note in my life. It's not really fart can, yet it's not deep either. Just loud and weird.

btw its called 2v mod motor with catless exhaust and something like SLP resonators for mufflers.

I forget what brand of mufflers my old man ordered when he first got the vette put back together, but they sounded awful. Completely hollow and tinny. He tore them off right away and put on some magnaflows to match the camaro, and it's a world of difference.

Of course not, a shitty muffler will make a car sound like ****. You cannot use the word "fartcan" to describe the sound of a car. You could throw a borla muffler on a honda and it will still sound like a honda with a "fartcan" wonder why? Hmm...they are both mufflers on a car that just sounds that way.

Lets say my Espiler muffler compared to a local exhaust shop cheap ass "fartcan" have about as much in common as a borla or magnaflow muffler...they look the same and that is about it.

Ignorance is bliss. So please just keep believing what you want about exhaust.

So true! That's funny, because I was just listening to a bunch of 32v sound clips yesterday to see what some of the new exhaust setups out there sound like. I forgot how HORRIBLE SLP is in comparison to, well, anything. :puke1:

Nope not Vivaths car, his is in storage while he's at boot camp. His does sound like that though, it's just straight pipes with some bullit tips, i think I heard him say once. IDK. We've been trying to get him to change it!!! Must be someone else's mustang though.

so whats this mustang look like? The yellow mach1 that came out last month sounded TERRIBLE. It had a slp loudmouth and it was by far the worst sounding vehicle next to a stock honda/neon/4cyl junk with a fart cannon.

It's either midnight blue or black, mostly stock looking ~'02.

Speaking of mustangs that Fail, there's an '05 I saw on Vine, red with white stripes, and the ugliest rice taillights in the world.

And an '02 out in the highlands, bright yellow with a giant black stripe filling the sidescoop and a couple other areas.

As for the exhaust note debate, I'm aware that you can't make a 2.0L sound like a 6.0L, but you can make it sound healthy rather than hollow. I've heard decent sounding Hondas, and they probably had mufflers shaped like your average fartcan, since there's probably not room for much else under there, but 99% of the kids that own the imports just want volume rather than performance.

I saw a green Maxima the other day, completely stock rims, suspension, and body, yet it had a giant wing and coffee can muffler. I'm thinking he bought it that way and will probably just drive it around until the embarrassment finally convinces him to remove the 2' tall spoiler and fill the holes in the trunk. :lol:
