Bought Stock from the local Des Moines Mitsu Dealership in October of 2006. Car had 10K miles and was owned by an 50yr+ Eye Doctor from a small town outside of Des Moines.
After purchasing car I met the old owner and bought some winter rims and tires.
I then added an 3" Turbo back exhaust. And drove it through the winter of 06\07.
http://se7enpc.com/images/evosnow4.jpg
In the spring of 07 I added:
255 Walbro FP
Swift Springs
Injen Intake / UICP / LICP
Tactrix Cable and ECU Flas ( Aka Tuned )
LC-1 with XD gauge Wideband
SW Boost Guage
Groupe-S Guage/HVAC Panel
Radio Relocated
ARC Heatsheild
Forge EVO15 DV/BOV
Evo IX Front with SE Lip
Gave me this:

http://se7enmotorsports.com/main.php/d/2371-3/062007+003.jpg
The car ran several 12.5X and 12.6X runs last year in the 1/4 on STOCK CLUTCH with several 1.6 60' launches.
I then took a shot at Autocross and fell in love. I am now building the car mainly towards Autocross.

Car sat in the garage for Winter 07/08. Tonight the parts begin to be added. Pics coming later tonight of new parts and then pics throughout the next week of progress.

Yep since day one. :) Well since I bought the cable anyway. I bought "canned" tune for 50 bux from a vendor and tweaked my timing and fuel from there with my wideband and knock counts, etc.

How would it be hard on the car? You put it in second gear, gas down, use brakes, and turn. It's easier on your car then launching from a dig is.
Not going to lie, I destroyed a line of 4 cones my second time. :)
Rims are 38 offset.

id say its alot easier on the car than drag racing. you dont really hold the engine at a constant high rpm the whole time its off and on the gas and brakes alot. only thing its hard on is your tires woop deee dooo. **** my car is alot madder at me after drag racing than it was after autoxing. **** shes still pissed at me from lastnight

It's for 45 seconds and your hardly high RPM for very long. You need to go and experance it. What you have in your head is not anything like it is.

The wheels are function over form in this case. They are one of the lightest 9.5 wide rims you can buy that will fit without spacers for the Evo.

The inner rig again is function based.
Without it the rim flexes and will crack. R compounds on all 4 at a 285 width have some serious grip. :)
Hopefully mid season I can have the funds for that and get another set of ballin rims for cruising.

I need to start gearing up and preparing my car for autox this spring as well. I was the same way, After my first one, i fell in love. Especially since I was able to really let the m3 loose (and Scott of course lol).

Where and how much did you get your SS Brake Lines for? They a worthwhile upgrade? I was looking at a 6 piece SS Line set for 125$
This reminds me to get a list going, Rotors, tires, upgrade the shifter, pads, lines....damn i'm gonna be broke. :bolt:

How wide is your rim? The Azenis have a really HARD sidewall which allow you to run wider than normal. Like on my 8" wide rims 245 wide would be the norm. But since the sidewall is so damn stiff on the Azenis you can run 255's. Also buy them from here: http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm Best prices I have found.
I have yet to install the lines and use in a race environment. I will let you know though once my first race is done. I think I paid 75 for mine, some vendor off the Evo forums.

My rims are 18X8. stock is 245/40 in the back, 225/45 front. 255's are usually the most you can fit, sometimes not even that depending on suspension setup. I'll have to do a little bit of searching to see if 255's can be done. I'm going to be pretty low after I get my GC Coilovers on...
But thanks for the link! I will probably be ordering from them soon...

With an AWD car you want a negative rake as they call it. The rear lower than the front. THis helps with balance and dive in when braking.
Also the arches in the front of the car are like 4 inches taller. No joke.

It flutters if you don't get some serious boost behind it. When your in the gas it just stays shut. If I only build like 5-10psi then let off it flutters because it is so stiff.
It always stats shut just flutters under anything under like 15psi really.

Yeah, it turned my throttle into an on/off switch, which I did not like. No doubt it holds like a mother though. Have you autox'd with it yet? Seems like you'd be sacrificing a lot of throttle control.

Yep I ran the first event of the year last weekend. I had the FTD for the first heat. Then ended up with 7th fastest of the day out of 43 by the time points runs were over.
Although in "fun" runs I took second FTD. Too bad it didn't count.

Yeah softer reduces flutter, but then reduces max PSI it can hold. So when I road race I may have to remove the stiff and replace with soft so part throttle is a bit more precise.
The stiff works well for drag racing at 24PSI though.
