Started running a little harsh it likes to rumble like a diesel and just sounds really rough also sputters going up hills. put in some new plugs and didn't change wires. they are not stock but i don't know how long they were in the jeep before i got it think this could be the problem?

You have a wrangler right? What engine? What were you doing when it started running rough?

What did the plugs look like? Do you have the 2.5 or the 4.0?

Im gonna guess 2.5

I will bet it is the wires or the cap. Codes? is it even throwing a light?

its the 2.5. CEL is not on and i've check all the wires to make sure they didn't get pulled out of the sock.

I would check all the basic stuff. Ohm the wires, look at the cap, change the fuel filter if you haven't. Put the parking brake on and just start to load the engine and see if it misses at the same point every revolution or if it is just running poor on all cylinders. What year is it?

If you had a scanner you may be able to look at a misfire graphic. Don't know if dodge has that or not.
