So a couple of us went out crusing today and happend to pull up next to the sixth gear performance 3000GT. This is the pearl white one that is clean as hell lowered on stock chrome wheels. I think he said he had a boost controller running 14psi on the stock twins. Also had some fuel work, intake, and something else, im sure cj remembers. First time we went from a dig and he got me out of the hole pretty bad then ended up about 2 cars behind to around 100mph. Second we went from a 2nd gear roll and it was pretty much even till around 105mph and he had about a half car on me. I was pretty damn suprised to beable to hang with that car.:)

CJ got some pics of the car im sure he will post up later.

So are F bodys

3k GTs can weigh 3700#s empty, have way more parasitic driveline loss. My LT1 weighed less than that with a full tank of gas, my fat ass in the driver's seat and a full nitrous bottle. Takes a fair amount of HP to make a 3kGT fast.
The problem with F-Bodys isn't the car, it's the owners. Most F-body owners (not all) start upping the HP without doing any traction mods and spinnin' ain't winnin'. F Bodys are tire fryers from the factory, so more HP makes them slower because the torque gets converted to heat energy emanating from the wheel wells with smoke rather than propelling the vehicle forward. Do some traction mods to your Z and you might be surprised what you can hang with / beat. :Thumb:

and traction is gay anyways. I would rather have a 500whp tire fryer than a 300whp car that hooks anyways. Mostly b/c i drive around by myself more than i race my car and spinning tires is fun.

C.J.

oh and about that 3kgt, haven't seen Aaron out for about 2 years and that was only seeing the car once, he hasn't been regularly out since i was probably only 16 or 17 back in the days of SGP.

he said he was running intake, exhaust, boost controller set to 15psi tapering to 9 psi....it wasn't as fast as i remember.

I think it was like 460whp actually, and he had full suspension and DR's and it was a dead even race at the 1/4. Rofl,so then he got pissed and stiffed dynoDan for a bunch of money.

No, they are.

For all the Seward boys on here, do you remember that red 1st Gen VR4 that used to rod around your town?

I remember a stealth rt/tt way back in the days.

Cobra Commander
25th February 2008, 09:01 AM
The red VR4 sat on the side of Herpolsheimer's for a few months. I think he finally blew the tranny or something. This same dude bought a red SRT4 after killing this VR4.

Anywho, I have many stories of this douche losing to 15 second cars. He drove that ****er like it was a seven second door slammer or something.

DarkSlide
25th February 2008, 09:02 AM
Oh that guy. The car looked clean but yeah it was slow as aids. I think he barely beat or lost to the red SL that runs around Seward.

Cobra Commander
25th February 2008, 09:07 AM
That dumbass used to cruise around York and bounce it off the rev then drop in in 1st every time he took off. I'm still amazed that tranny lasted as long as it did. He got walked pretty badly by a GS-T with a ricer BOV, hard piping, and a catback. :ohnoes:

VR4's are on the heavy side in terms of weight but with just a few easy mods its pretty easy to get them to 350+hp. But parts are ****ing expensive as ****..

I know those are stockers now. To me they looked nothing like the stock wheel in those rolling pictures. Well, kinda. It took me a minute to figure that out.

We had 1 (one) of those wheels on a top shelf at Mitsubishi for some reason with a foot of dust on the box. It was listed for almost $900 bucks. Why anyone would spend almost $4k on that kind of ugliness is beyond me.

Cobra Commander
25th February 2008, 02:51 PM

Electronic Controlled Suspension (could toggle between two modes of suspension..basically still and soft)
Electronic Controlled Exhaust (could toggle between two modes of exhaust, open for more power, or closed for better mpg)
Active Aero (could control the rear wing spoiler, and front air dam, increase for more downforce, and flatten for a smoother ride)
4 wheel steer (wheels also tilted after 30mph for better ride quality
LCD In Car Temporature Monitor
and some other stuff i cant think of off the top of my head
