Freak Hockey Accident

I saw this on Sports Center last night, did anybody else see this?

This guy is incredibly lucky. His artery was just about sliced all the way through, but it was hanging by a thread, which meant that it didn't retract and surgeons were able to sew it back up. And also he was lucky that he was able to keep enough pressure on it that he didn't die from loss of blood. If just a couple small details of this accident had happened differently, this guy would more than likely be dead today.

Yeah I didn't think it looked all that bad last night on ESPN, but I didn't know that they kept stopping the tape right before he started spewing blood...

yea i read at work today that he lost 1/3 of his total bodys blood amount. his coloital(sp) vane was not sheared through. it was still slightly attached which helped the surgeons stitch it back together better rather than dealing with two pieces. he is talking again. and he could possibly come back if his team makes it to the playoffs. although the doctor suggests he waits till next year.
