Don't buy extended warrentys on TV's. If they last past the manufarcturers warrenty its a pretty safe bet there going to last for ever. If a TV fails its going to be within a couple months.

I was going to buy the extended warr. with my tv. I decided it didnt' make sense. I"m pretty handy with **** like that and google has been my friend for fixing pretty much anything.
Your paying nearly 25% of the purchase price to make sure the tv makes it 3 years. I seen a financial artical published on MSN.com awhile ago that suggest you never buy the extended plan on electronics except in the case of laptops.
So i will agree with the above. Don't get it... If you play football in the house and have had more than one close call with the tv then you may consider this warr. otherwise pass. It's a waste of moeny.

honestly, if it includes ACCIDENTAL coverage, get it. 5 years from now. have an accident. (or maybe your neighbors up the street break in and steal it......) bam! new tv.

doubt it covers if someone steals it or some kid throws a baseball into it. But if it does cover that, wait four and a half years and throw a baseball into it. Would they even replace it with something new, or just give u 25 bucks because thats what its going to be worth in five years

their accidental replacement plan replaces whatever it is with an equivalent of what it was worth when u bought it. i had to legitimately use their replacement plan on an amp i got back when i had my 7 series in Highschool. they replaced a 780watt amp with a 1200 watt unit becuase the price of the 1200 watt had dropped.

well if you hang it up and watch it and not be stupid the tv will be fine

the thing with plasma to remember is that if you leave a picture up for a long period of time (eg. paused VHS, paused video game, paused DVD that doesnt have a built in screen saver, DVD menus are a huge one) the image will pretty much burn into the tv. now yes you can always just leave it off for x amount of time and it'll "go away" but it'll never completely go away. and on certain color of backgrounds (dependign on the image it might start showing up on some disc menus etc) you'll see the image through whatever is really on screen

that has been improved greatly

i wouldnt say "greatly" but yes. they have made some adjustments to make it harder to have an image freezed.
