5.0 vs RX-8

Comen home from work today an RX-8 rolled up on me. He honked at me wanting to race. So we slowed down to a 25 roll. I had him to 80 then he got me by 2 cars. Decent race or not? I think that rotary engine decided to open up. Lol

Well as long as they are not AUTO's you ****ing noob, then yes you can crack 14's I was a little hasty I should have said 14.5 a 14.2 is a little bit of a stretch but mid 14's is achievable, but the average run of the mill most people driving, close to a 14.8 or a 15 flat

Yes, ran them to at least 100. I have never seen top end from a 5.0 when racing them. I had a 88GT but that had 4.10s so I dont even know why I brought that up.

not a stock honda, at all, it was before the hatch was boosted. I put cars on a 4.6 once, after he got me off the line. I think it was a 4.6, it had the verticle tail lights. I dont know **** about what year had what taillights, etc.

consistently? 15.2s at 91mph. I went 4 weekends in a row with the car, and it didn't matter if I had a half tank, 1/8 tank, spare tire, no spare, or a chick riding shotgun..... It was a 15.2 car every time with the exception of a select few freak runs where the car had a brain fart and actually ran fast(er). :lol: Yes they are turds, but they do AWESOME burnouts and shitters.

My '03 GT was a different story. It was a consistent 14.2 car @99mph with the factory homo Goodyears. It didn't snatch up a 13.9 till the Goodyears were thrown in the trash for a set of all season BFGs. The traps stayed the same though.

One point I will bring up though, is I've never seen any magizene test a notchback. I don't see any reason why someone couldn't pull a mid 14 out of one if they can get high 14s out of a heavier hatch.

I don't know. Roo's Mullet got down to 14.7s with no mods, but then again, it did already have some Shur-Fine headers on the car. TPI still wouldn't have the top end that a Fox would.

Three of my buddies in high school had the same color Monte SS's. One was surprisingly quick, and another was only a car length faster then my 88hp Bobcat. :lol: The quicker one was actually able to break into the 15s with hacked off exhaust. IMO that was kinda quick for a stock mullet Monte.

The paint was all cracked on it though, and would give you 19,000 cuts on your hand if you ran it across the hood.

^ monte ss's are have the worst case of factory freak synrome known to man. I've seen so many people not able to click off a 16, and I gauran****intee mine was one of those that did a high 15. Now I don't need to say that's still **** slow, but given it's a 305 in a heavy car, built with 80's emissions, etc etc etc and 150k+ miles on it, that's pretty decent. They were factory rated at 15.7-16.1 in the 1/4

I didnt have my slicks at the time and nor did it matter. His parents probably bought it, but he didnt spin out of the whole, I did and was still pulling away. This is the white one thats got the sweet fake foose wheels, most have seen it idk if you have, he still had the stock wheels on it when I raced him so its not like that made it slower. The dak may not run 10s but it'll **** off most mustang owners that think they are king **** with a mostly stock 5.slow or 4.suckass.
