ive seen alot of fabbed intake's good luck building one usually everyone has issues with welds cracking and causing vac. leaks even magnus have issues with a runner cracking

Let me get mine done and i will show it to you. If you want one then we can talk. pretty sure i will charge for materials and very little for labor. everything will be lazor cut and professionally machined and welded.

Kelvin

just realize material alone is like 100-200 maybe.

hey you get one built locally and you need to let me know. Ive been looking into the JM Fab mani's lately and they have good feedback. Do you have anything done to your car lately? I just got my turbo back exhaust today and everything else is bolted up ready to roll.

**** no i own a jeep i can't sell. I have a 1g gst waiting for me once i sell the beep beep. Then i can drive the gst and work on the gsx. that will free up a lot more money to put towards the gsx as well

Kelvin if there is enough interest i can get it at cost and buy in bulk to help with the price. Also it will be on autocad so if need be i can have one made up in no time.

I though the sheet metal intakes wern't that big of an upgrade for a dsm. but then again Who the ** knows.

dsmdarryl

lol... people see like 35 hp from an smim

95gsx
31st January 2008, 03:29 AM
they are more for top end which could mean a few more MPH in the long run. boost horsepower and help the engine breathe more

Oh yea the mani's will be lobster tanked meaning they all will be check for leaks.

Its an good upgrade, plus it makes your engine bay LOOK some much better.

Consistently makes over 50whp, on big turbo setups and 40 hp on smaller turbo's.

Trueblood. The sizes of pieces needed would be considered to be almost scrap to them. If not then I could easily throw them some cash when the time came. If they were uncapable to do welds... Iske is a very decent TIG welder. I could pay him almost nothing to do it at the high school.

trueblood for materials YES (maybe), to actually build it..... :doubt:

that would help, but i would NEVER give truebloods dad/parents any money thats for sure.

i got the one on ebay, it is pretty much a jmfab mani, it looks pretty good, but for u 2g guys, you are pissing in the wind unless you switch to a bored out 1g throttle or bigger, and you need to go c.o.p or move your coils by your power steering as I did. I didn't see too much noticeable gain, but my engine has been blown for a good long time. You will notice you can hear your valvetrain alot more, but I think it sounds kinda sweet. you will also need to modify your intercooler piping if you have hard pipes, as the mani sits about 4-6 inches lower. I do think that ebay one is decent for the money btw, I picked one up slightly used with a tb for 290 shipped, not bad at all, and I would suggest getting one of those white phenolic gaskets to keep the heat out of the intake, they are pretty cheap on ebay.

make one out of beer cans, that would kick ass, just turn the amps down on the welder or youll burn through

Kelvin
2nd February 2008, 06:18 PM
so weld with double a batteries? that would be sweet
