So, were going to see Cloverfield this Saturday night. Don't have a scheduale up yet. But I was just thinking Southpointe at whatever the 9:00 show is. I'll post up confirmation when they get the scheduale up. Who's in?

the movie is all one one guys camcorder, and its taped over his old tape, of him with this girl beth, whom he was friends with, slept with, and hung out with for the day. what it gets taped over with, is footage from the goodbye party for him (his name is Rob), as he is supposed to leave for japan the next day. people are hangin out, giving testimonials to him, and then the monster comes... youve seen all that from the preview. the filmer is the rob's friend, who is put in charge of the filming for the evening, his name is Hud. they run out on the streets, and start running for the brooklyn bridge after hud catches it crashing through a building. the group at this point is rob, his brother, his brother's gf lisa, hud, and marlena, this girl that hud was hiting on at the party. the bridge is attacked, and jason, rob's brother is killed here. they all turn around and run back into manhattan, and as the rioting begins, rob runs into an electronic store to get a new battery for his phone, where hud films some news reports that show the monster (as well as some spongebob squarepants). rob checks his voicemail and finds that beth is trapped in her apartment, so he goes off to find her, and everyone tags along, calls him crazy, but wont let him go alone. they get caught up in the military fight, and duck into the subway tunnels, trying to wait for the attack to die down. rob's mom calls, and he breaks the news to her about jason. eventually, they start moving down the tunnels because the attack above ground doesnt die down, and as they do, they are attacked by the parasites that fall off the main monster. the parasites look kinda like bugs, not at all like the main beast. marlena gets bitten, but lives, as they escape into a maintanance room. the group realizes they are at a station, so they step out into a mall, which turns out to be the base of operations for the military. marlena is not looking so good, and when the military medical people find out she is bitten, everybody freaks out, and we find that when you get bitten by one of the bugs, which are huge, about the size of a large dog, you bleed out, and explode. marlena dies, and rob, lisa and hud head out and find that beth's building has toppled over onto the neighboring apartment complex. they climb the 50 odd stories, and jump out of a broken window onto the roof of the now connecting toppled tower, work there way down, and find beth.( here is where the movie gets bad.) she is impaled on a metal rod, but they lift her off, and she is still alive, and can magically run. once on the top of the building again, as they make their way out, you get some good shots of the monster moving towards them through the city. the group of 4 makes it now to the military checkpoint for evacuation, and lisa gets into the first helicopter. she flies away, and beth, rob, and hud get into the next one. as they leave the city, hud films a b-2 bomber clusterbomb the monster, who we think dies in the smoke. then it reaches out really fast and swats down their helicopter. somehow, all 3 friends are still alive, and have crashed into central park. the monster comes right for them, and stands over hud for a good 10 seconds before it eats him or at least bites him to death. rob picks up the camera and him and beth run into a tunnel. things start blowing up, rob tells beth he loves her for the first time, and she says the same and then the tape/the movie ends. thats it

Yeah, I saw that with my gf too. I think she liked it more than me, but she's really jumpy. I thought it was a little lame. I Think they showed too much of the monster/creatures. I don't know.

Its a freaking movie. Not exactly a life changing decision. I'll make my own judgment on the movie. Better then sitting at home on a Saturday night in Winter.

I bought my ticket on my way home from work, and we showed up like 30 mins early, and the place was packed when we walked in.. The camera does move around alot though.. I liked how the actors in the movie are not known actors. and the effects seem pretty real at times. It made the movie look really real, which was kinda cool.
