When I went there to ask about a tune they told me $500 minimum and they wanted me to leave my car there for a weekend and they didnt want me there when they did it. I said wtf and left. Then I went and spend $500 on my neptuneRTP that I can tune my damn self.

It is now street tuned, by me. I would want to be there to watch the thing on the dyno and try to learn something in the process. I just always like to get my moneys worth I guess. If they had an hourly rate or something and would let me in on it I would go there. They didnt seem shady just seemed like I was gonna be a pain in their ass so they didnt want me around.
Kelvin
27th December 2007, 02:08 PM
well if its a pain for you to be there why bring your car there? i was quoted 75 an hour to use there dyno with me or someone of my choice to use the dyno. i think they are charging so much because its something they have never used. id say you should get ahold of someone that knows how to use it or you do it yourself.

27th December 2007, 02:28 PM
Well at the time I didnt have a standalone but they told me that if I got one they could tune it, didnt matter what it was. Maybe they wanted the weekend to learn it? I dunno but either way I wouldnt wanna leave my car with anyone that didnt want me there to watch them do what they do.
Kelvin
27th December 2007, 02:49 PM
i wouldnt leave my car with someone who didnt know the standalone i was using

The shop said they would but........$600 dollars since its AWD seems rather pricey but I trust them and I dont know where else I would take it.

**** it Weld the VCU and then if your break a t-case you don't have to worry about driving it and ****ing it up in FWD. But you will hear your drive line bind up when taking corners slow.

Here is the deal....
It's not that we don’t want "you" here. We like people to drop off their stuff that is going to be time consuming. With being an auto repair shop we cannot always spend 100% of the time on the performance stuff. We will do select Saturdays where a person could hang out but that is not very often.
When someone calls and wants us to "tune" their car that they just got running or just put a standalone on or turbo on, etc. We know from experience that it will not be just a 2 or 3 hour deal. We quote a price say $600 and that covers tuning the car no matter how long it takes. Most of the time it takes a couple of days. If a person wants to tune their own car than it is $70 an hour for the dyno time.
In Shane’s case it’s around $200 to convert to 2wd then back to AWD. That leaves $400 to dyno and tune. That is about 3 hours.
Systems we have tuned with are: DSM link, Tuner cat, Haltech, AEM, MS, Hondata, Diablosport, Fast, BS3, Accel, Jet.

so from what i have read....he reset the ecu by removing the battery? I obviously don't know much about dsm link but that seems kind of shitty, I can reset my ECU all day long and it will keep my tune.
