4 cam torino

In the last couple weeks I sold the 289, got the shock towers and factory cross member cut out and the Mustang II stuff from RC Motorsports welded in. The new engine now bolts in the car, so it really is the 4 cam torino now, a non running 4 cam Torino but a 4 cam torino nonetheless.

Engine bay starting point.

Motor mounts came as a few pieces in the kit, the flate plate needed a little clearancing for the block

Quite a bit of room to the cross member but the pan is close to the rack and about level with the bottom of the cross member. As low as I feel comfortable with. It'll get driven a lot and I definitely don't want the pan to be the first thing that would bottom out.

Obviously there's some clean up and painting to do once everything is fit together.

It didn't really fit in the stock engine bay. But it has all kinds of room after the shock towers got cut out :D

Your torino will handle so much better with the work you're doing. Nice work btw.

It really didn't handle that bad after I relocated the upper control arms on the stock stuff. The only problem with the stock stuff was that it bound up really bad, and that it was in the way of the engine :)
We'll see how it handles now. Hopefully at least as good. Not sure on the stock spring rate but I believe this to be stiffer. It'll probably honestly handle like **** until I figure out what the hell to do with the rear.

IRS?

I dunno on the IRS, I've seen one test fitted in another car so I have a good idea of what needs done to make it fit. And that guy got his for $550, so they can be picked up cheap, but I don't know, places sell set ups to dump the leafs in favor of a triangulated 4 link set up and coil overs, but that costs a lot more, although I'm not sure what I can get for shocks and springs for a Cobra IRS and what that would cost

looks great! there is a believe what is called a '429 cobra jet' torino here. its got 20-30k miles on with number matching. he says it worth 80k or something. is this something i should take pictures of bard?
