so last night i was drving down highway 77 heading north about 20 miles from lincoln, it was 11:45pm, no one on the road, i was clocked doing 81 in a 65, first of all, i think this trooper was kind of an ass for giving me a ticket that late on a sunday night, when no one else was around, but thats beside the point, i just got a ticket not too long ago and got bitched out by the parents because insurance was going to go up, well it's goign to go up even more now, but question, is there anything i can do to get out of this ticket? i talked to a friend of mine and he was telling me to go next meek and talk to one of the lady's at the courts place where you pay your ticket, and tell her some story and that i could at least try and get it taken off that way, is that possible? I'm all for trying it too, i've got nothing to loose!
any other ideas besides just paying it and stop class? ( already took stop class once back in july)

You deserve the ticket, the officer was not an asshole for giving it to you, this coming from me, go the speed limit, and i promise you won't get tickets, and if you speed and get a ticket, you deserved it, don't *****.

Did ya get to your destination quicker than you would have at the speed limit? Sounds like you're screwed. Don't blame the cop; you broke the law and he caught you.
Look at the bright side. The fine from the ticket goes to pay for kid's school books.

wait until you are arraigned, they wont even talk to you until then. then go talk to the attorney.
honestly, thats a waste of time, you cant get out of it.

Sure there may be a way to get out of it.
The easiest way that you could have got out of it would of just done the speed limit...

damn, oh well, **** happens
after he brought me the ticket i asked if there was any way that we could change this to a warning, he said no and i quote him here:
"i guess someone is just trying to tell you something"
me and my passanger laughed about that the entire way home!

I love this section, but only cause I can relate to it so easily.
I went thru that phase, wanting to get out of the tickets and such. I have a stack somewhere of all my old tickets and warnings. Multiple times I was to the point that I got the county attorney to drop one ticket if I plead to another. Now I stick to 5ish over and they dont bother me. Its really nice to drive past the ****ers without having to hit the brakes, tho I still do when my valentine goes off, even if im not speeding, force of habit I guess. I havent gotten a ticket since I got arrested for racing over a year ago and a 13 over a few days after being arrested. They dropped the 13 over for me pleading guilty to the racing.
So if you do something worse, they might drop the lesser charge, thats one way to get out of it I guess.
BOORAH
25th December 2007, 04:38 AM
Yeah so i think you should attempt vehicular manslaughter, and maybe they'll drop the speeding charge!

its called ADD i think if its a more serious offense then they will do it. i think i was pulled over cause they thought i was someone else because i was arrested on the interstate in omaha. stop class from what i understand can be taken 1 time over a 3 year span. if you just took it this year you need to slow down or do it somewhere else other then hwy 77 try o street.

btw..... in most case you are probably already considered the highest risk on your insurance. If anything that last ticket finished you off and maxed you out.. this is assuming you are under 25 which i am assuming. WIth that said. You will probably notice your insurance won't go up even after they find out about the ticket. If you want to fight it (i haven't read but i assume someone has stated of ways to fight the ticket) go ahead. It is your right to do so. Some times just getting a lawyer can make lil things like that disappear. Also another option is to make a deal with the County Att. Not the city as it was a trooper that got ya. you could possibly make a deal for a lower speed which is still ticket, but cost you less.

I have never heard of an ADD class in my days, unless its some sort of diversion but that would have to me more serious than speeding(I would think). Having an attorney will help, but it sounds to me like you are already in too deep with your record, so if it was me I would pry suck it up and pay for the ticket and not spend anymore on an attorney. Its my experience that the first ticket costs you the most, and later ones not as much. Tho my racing ticket doubled mine after I already had two on there.

Oh, underage. Take that **** to juvenile court and get it put on your juvi record. My attorney once told me that if its on the juvi record they cant get you for insurance premiums after u turn 18.

Once you are 18 your juvi record gets locked up, so the way I understand it is that the insurance company cant get you for it after that? I dunno if its true or not but it would be something worth looking into for sure.

speeding tickets are not part of a juvi record. Moving violations are different that criminal. The DMV holds on to that information just the same... **** i thought i was clever when i went down to the court house to talk to the city att. to reduce my ticket and he pulled up my information which had been edited due to other negoitiations i'd been made but he was able to pull up all the old information.. he had ****ing everytime i'd been pulled over and felt the need to recite it to me.. I only had 2 speeding tickets at the time that actually made it to court the others were taken care of stop class style. I assumed those were documented.. nope i was wrong he had it all there from when i was 16.
Long story short... your driving record is more perm. than you think.

I know, cops can pull up every run-in you have had with them on their nifty little laptops(driving, criminal, everything). When I was in high school I got pulled over and not even ticketed but the girl that was riding with me was also tagged on the report. Last summer I searched her name on one of said laptops and the same report came up. But that is different from your driving record. I remember my attorney specifically telling me that if the city attorney didnt negotiate he would ask for a trial and have it transferred to juvi court just to drag the ticket on since the points and insurance are based on the date of the ticket, not the date of conviction. So if you somehow manage to drag a ticket out in court for many years you will never pay insurance or lose point because of it. I do not however know if you could get it removed from your record when you turn 18, though to me it seems like it would be something to research.
