View Full Version : how much trouble will i be in?

my neighbors have countless caseworkers for a variety of things, but one common theme seems to be that they park their car in front of my driveway. not a little bit, they completely block it. either by dumb luck, or virtue of them constantly being over there, it seems to be extreemly common for them to be in my way when i need to leave. i try and catch them on their way to and from their car so i can point out that my neighbor HAS a driveway around the corner that they could be parking at, and that even if they didn't, it is inconsiderate to block mine.

anyhow... it seems inevitable that i'm going to hop in my car one of these days, throw it into reverse, and crush both passenger doors of their vehicle. is that going to be entirely on me?

I would expect it to be. You should be checking your entire driveway for bikes and little kids before backing up.

Maybe get some business cards top put under thier wiper blade. let them know that they can't park for **** and that the next time it happens thier car will be towed.

People always park in our yard and then walk over to the park, on the other side of the street. It pisses us off too. We are thinking about putting up a sign. People are just rude. I would never park in someones yard.

theyre always there 15-20 minutes. enough to be a pain, but not long enough to get a tow truck over there.

Just politely post a note on their car. I'd suspect it will change once you point it out to them. If you do nothing, nothing will change.

are they there on a regular basis though? if so, you could probably get a tow truck there fast, thats easy money for them...

Or take some pictures....

Have you tried leaving your phone number on the vehicle to have them call you?

i know i've spoken to all of them at least once about it. they act flustered, apologize, and then do it again the next day.

go borrow a truck from a buddy,

get a chain, hook chain to truck and car control arms. pull out of way, or in the middle of the street. remove chain. hide truck.

If they're caseworkers, they have bosses. Find out which orginization they work for (KVC, Owens, Cedars, the state, whoever it may be) and call their superviser and let them know how unhappy you are about their employees behavior. Also let them know you've talked to them about it once before, and you're tired of it.
If that doesn't work, I'm all for the "drag the car away with a chain and truck" routine. Always remember, some people simply suck as human beings.

start keeping a log of times and license plate numbers. And have any blocked neighbors do the same.

buy a wheel clamp, and misplace the key.

or make a barricade of crap to get your point across

or just park so they cant move and wait for the cops to come

do it. we're talking bumper to BUMPER close until a tow truck arrives. Or just leave the cars there for awhile.

we did that to a guy who kept parking in our parking lot and walking to east campus. every day he would park in the spot regardless of the sign he parked next to that said no parking. we boxed him in. and drove vans the rest of the day. we come back from a delivery and the car is gone. we are like WTF???
look over our cars and they are scratched up and stuff.

next week comes along and he has the nerve to park there again.
We went and got aircraft stripper. he got the point after he needed to repaint his hood, bumper, both front fenders, doors, and rear gate. and 2 rims.

never saw him again after that.

Had that happen at an apartment where there were like 6 spots and someone kept parking in mine. I parked them in one day. They knew it was me, because they were clearly marked with apartment numbers. They actually had the nerve to knock on my door and ask me to move. I told them I would move when I was leaving next, about four hours later, for class. She kind of shulked away and it never happened again.

I would call the cops, have one come out and give you addvice on what you can legally do about it. I would say take pictures and keep track of every time it happens, date time of day and for how long. Almost like building a case, then you have the evidence to possibly take them to court or something.

Next time they do it, leave them a "**** you" letter on their windshield. If they do it again, get just block them in and leave it like that the rest of the night. Or wrap a chain around the axle and just pull the thing out of the way. Did that to a neighbor who thought he had to park his 20' trailer on the street at night, made it impossible to back out. Dragged the thing up into his yard after I backed into it one night. They'll get the hint.

Then when they come outside to see wtf is going on with their car, look them right in the eye and shoot your load in the grill LIKE A BOSS.

joe, that was amazing.

in order for the blocking-them-in deal to work I need to remember to leave my pickup parked on the street.

last night I put all my cars in the driveway, so this morning when I needed to leave & there was one of them blocking me, all I could do was yell. There were no cars parked on the street, and she still pulled into my driveway. It was the cute one too. Sadly had backed in, so ramming the ever living **** out of her honda would be hard to play off as accidental.

We were actually talking about doing something like that. Only probably is if we have people over and we forget to move it I would feel really bad.

ray, if it was the first time, i would have done it like that. this is not the first time.

and no Z28, we do not share a driveway. their house is on the corner, and their driveway connects to the other street. my neighbors park in their garage, so their driveway is empty 99% of the time. furthermore, in this instance, there wasn't even any cars parked along the curb.

update. . .
one of them left the keys in the car running.

I took the keys, & went back to work in my garage.
case worker comes out, looks around, starts panicing. I let her. After awhile I walk up & say "your car is in my driveway."
she says "do you have my keys?"
I underhand pitch them at her, point at my neighbors garage, & say "their driveway is over there"
she replies "i didn't know"
I say, "ive had this conversation too many times. dont ever block my driveway again."

the next day she parks across the street in front of the No Parking sign, and locks the door quite intentionally setting the alarm.

I don't think it's stupidity, I think it was more convinient for them to park in/block Daniel's driveway than park in the proper driveway.

Nice move simply taking the keys out and waiting for her to panic a bit. A very simple way to get the point across.
