They have the most powerfull cars in all the major catagorys when you look at the numbers.
Truck - SRT10 Ram
Sedan - SRT8 Charger
Sports Car - SRT10 Viper
Compact - SRT4 Caliber
Station Wagon - SRT8 Magnum
SUV - SRT8 Cherokee
Muscle Car - SRT8 Challenger

It's really impressive that a $50,000 SRT 10 RAM barely edges out a $33,000 Lightning. A Lightning with 17k in bolt ons is going to smoke the **** out of that RAM so bad your head will spin. I'm pretty sure the Lightning out brakes a Ram too, so much for every performance category.
And the challenger? **** man, let one hit the streets before you suck them off too much. I was told two days ago that they are still heavier than a Charger, sweet.

Actually Dodge edged out the lightning by one foot from 70-0 according to C&D. It also started at $45k not $50K. And you cannot compare modified cars to stock cars because you can put $5K into a fox body and outrun them all. Price/performance the Lightning has it edged big time. I was just stating that the SRT-10 out performed it.

MT says the Lightning brakes 60-0 in two full feet shorter than the SRT
http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/pickup/163_0407_2004_ford_dodge_truck/specifications_overview.html
And these are all for the SRT that can't tow. If you want the SRT that can actually be used as a truck, the Lightning will smoke you. I know, because I've seen it happen in my rear view mirror.
45k, 50k, whatever, still way too much money for a truck that has no payload or towing capacity that barely out performs a truck that cost 33k and can tow/haul a full load.
srt-4_uk
13th December 2007, 01:27 PM
Maybe the braking was different from C&D because it was from 70-0. The SRT does have larger brakes to help with fade. I was just saying it out performed. Not that it hauled more, cost less or was the better value because it isnt. That Cherokee on the other hand....

The Caliber is underrated from the factory. Dyno #'s are in the 270's-280's at the wheels. Price and interior has nothing to do with performance. The fact of this topic still stands. As far as performance goes, Mopar wins in every class.
Brooks an idiot becuase he drove a fleet v6 Charger. That has nothing to do with the SRT8 Charger being the best 4 door sedan performer in its class.

Higher horsepower will not end the game. I'll point out a mopar example for you to help you understand regarding a certain blue srt4 from GI that you are very familiar with. If I remember right it should go like this:
rwd>fwd, 383hp>322hp, srt8>srt4 right?
Wrong, so wrong. The fwd, with 60 less hp, is a second faster in the quarter than the(your) more powerful rwd V8. You are gonna have to start looking at this a little differently.

What the heck are you talking about shaggy? Those are 2 different classes of cars. One is a 4 door Sedan, the other a compact car. And there both modded. And there both Mopars. Totally has nothing to do with this topic. Check back on the first post. The topic is about Mopar leading each class of car in performance.

Back on track now. You guys have to realize that people don't want to HAVE to buy a sports car or muscle car to get performance anymore. They want performance elsewhere. Like a station wagon, sedan, SUV, or truck. And Mopar answered the call. They cater to car enthusiasts. GM meanwhile is clueless.

I'm simply showing that a higher amount of horsepower will not make the car perform better, I realize that they are two different classes.
If you want to state that mopars have higher horsepower than everything else then go ahead, but to state that mopars are the best in all performance aspects??? I dont think there is an automaker in this world that can state that. Plus you used the word "perfection" and thats just way they hell off. You cant tell me that a Viper is completely better than a Z06, or that the srt-4 is the fastest sport compact. I think you should start smaller with your claims.

I dont think GM is clueless. I think they have a good idea of whats going on. Also, this site is pretty much composed of people that are concerned with performance, you are forgetting that an automaker gets most of its revenues from the "normal" cars that dont interest many here. I guarantee you that without the thousands and thousands of people buying neons(and whatever else mopar makes) you wouldnt have your srt8 right now.

Lets see....SRT10 truck...cant turn, cant stop, cant turn track times worth $50k
SRT8 Charger....ide love to see that tuna boat run around a track
SRT4 Caliber...compared to the competition it might as well shoot itself in the foot...oh wait dodge already did when they threw that motor in a ****in micro van. It most definitely is not fast, it cant turn, it cant do ****
Challenger...well it wont beat the Camaro at anything so there is no point to even make that piece of ****.

Ya, there weighing as much as the old school muscle cars now.
Uneducated statement. Roadrunners and Torinos are a good place to start. Both weigh under 3500 lbs and they were both mid sized cars. You have to remember that even though they used heavier sheet metal that crash standards weren't what they are now. There is no structure to those cars under neath or in the sides. They'll twist and if you hit one in the side it'll fold in half. Old school muscle cars aren't as heavy as everyone makes them out to be.

And the SRT-8 Cherokee is dominated in the same way the SRT-10 Ram is dominated. TBSS > SRT-8 Cherokee when you figure the whole equation in, not just performance. The TBSS is capable of towing a car. The SRT-8 Cherokee needs an expensive ass Mopar hitch added that can only handle towing a jet ski. Then you top it off with price and options and the TBSS > SRT8 without question. When you are talking about performance trucks and SUVs, they should still be able to tow. Why buy a fast truck/SUV that can't do the things a normal truck and SUV can do when you could just buy a car that is faster than the truck or SUV for less money anyway?
Mopar fails at life. Literally. It's a ****ing sinking ship. You can dominate everyone in horsepower in every category but when the products are inferior across the board in all other aspects you aren't going to make it long. They just laid off a bunch of people Monday even. Cutting production in a few plants, etc.

Ford and GM are both dominating Chrysler right now as far as complete line up goes. Performance cars aren't where you make your money. I'll support buying GM though, especially 4WD and AWD GMs, go stock up, give them as gifts, write to GM telling them you would buy an AWD Camaro/Corvette, etc. :)
I'd kill for an AWD vette.
The hardcore vette enthusiasts bitched about making the headlights stationary on the C6, can you imagine the bitching about AWD? Corvettes should do burnouts, not awd launches. And they should also dominate the AWD cars with their RWD. Done.

My dad keeps talking about selling a couple projects that he will never finish in his lifetime and buying a new Z06, he gets GM supplier discount tho.

I agree. The Corvette is a car made for the redneck with money. The average trailerpark resident is going to be pretty pissed off once he catches wind that he will no longer be able to beat his wife and/or sister then do a burnout through the court yard in a drunkin' pissed off rage taking out all of the stained underwear hanging up on the line to dry. Well, he can still beat his wife then take out the clothes line, but he just won't be able to do it while sliding sideways. :(
Does GM really want to take that chance?

Yeah, except that a redneck with money wont buy a vette. He will buy beer, and lots of it, and a 3rd gen CAMARO. If he has the 50k to buy a new vette his wife will most likely spend it on new tupperware.

The reason its 11 pages long is cause its fun to make fun of someone who thinks the brand they are loyal to is perfect. Thats what got us all here now we're pretty much just bullshitting amongst ourselves.

Don't reason with Craig... hes lost into some Mopar abyss with no hope of return.
Not true. He will trade it in on something else soon and jump onto whatever brand bandwagon he goes with at the time.

It's about 4x4 time for him again right? What else is there other than Jeep and Hummer though? I could seem him driving a mini trucked out Colorado. I predict that for his next move.

I think my next vehicle will be some sort of 4x4 or AWD. But not sure wether it will be like a daily like a SRT8 Cherokee or a beater like a Caliber then I get another car as my racer.
