March 2006 i sent a guy $5500 and $1800 to build me a porsche speedster replica. Bastard never did it. After much bitching and emailing he sent me like $3500 back but still owes me like $3500 and change.

Its been a year since ive heard from him and ive been very frustrated trying to get any anwswers to solve the problem.

I have already called FBI, Attorney General, Prosecuting attorney offices both there and here and they all give me the same bull **** excuse that its a Civil matter.

This guys email address's dont work anymore, his phone numbers are disconnected.

I meet this guy on www.vwvortex.com he was a reputable fabricator of Vw parts and been around forever. He used to make aftermarket turbo kits for old rabbits and made other various parts for VW.

Anyways, his son is still on the forums. He ignores me after i got "verbally abusive" to him through the instant messaging system on the vortex. Anyone blame me? He kept making excuses that his dad feels bad and his dad did give me back some of my money, etc etc etc. I harrass the guy by posting BS in everyone of his threads. He just ignores me of course, which is probably for the best.

Today my Lawyer here in lincoln suggested i contact a collection agency in TX and submit it to collections and they will hunt him down then take a precentage.

I dont understand their version of small claim court, when ever i call down there i find it hard to understand them or they are not clear in how i am suppose to proceed.

SO i post this to you. Any suggestions?

Have you tried talking to his local police department?

Yes of course, they were my second phone call. Maybe they were just busy but i couldnt even get pass the lady answering the call. I asked to speak with an officer and she of course asked about what so i explained in pretty great detail and she said it was a Civil matter and i would need to continue in small claims court.

Today i called their prosecuting attorneys office and got the same response. They suggest i hire a lawyer down there and file in court, but one lawyer i contacted wanted $2000 retainer, which of course im not going to spend that kinda money to chase $3500 with the possibility of not getting back anything at all.

Good luck with the Corpus police. They are busy catching murderers, gang members and drug runners. They won't likely help you.

E-Mail me what you know about this guy and I'll see what I can do to help ya.

honestly it seems like an uphill battle that will never pan out for ya. He isn't paying you because he doesn't have the money... I think thats obvious. You figure your cost to go to small claims court, hotel, gas, food, and of course time (during the week) and you add all that up into this trip... i assume you've paid your lawyer some money... i think you see where i'm going with this... your going to nickle and dime yourself trying to get it back and you probably never will or it will take damn never forever to do so.

Set up with a collection agency and let them **** up his life. IF their fee is 20% i think you will still come out on top over going to texas.

it sucks when **** like this happens but sometimes **** happens.

I know it probably going to go no where but i have to try.

Im thinkin that maybe i can have someone in corpus christy represent me in court and save me a trip, or say they are me? I dont know.. I just cant let em off the hook.

If i went down there it would get ugly, so it would be best if i didnt make the trip.

i had a similar issue with a purchase through dsmtuners. i didnt know where he lived as the money was paypal'd. after doing some research (working for alltel internet shits) i found out where he lived and threatened that if he didnt get me my money in 48 hours i was called the local police (i listed the city and everything) to get it for me. he paid me lol.

in your case you better make a road trip. id say its worth it.
