are they legal in nebraska??? I'm thinking about buying another set of wheels for the escort and putting studded tires on em. I remember asking a tire store about a year ago about them and they said they could do it.. so i assume it's legal but i never see anyone with them...

Studs are going on the escort.
I think it would be bad ass to put studs on the vette though.
David

blizzacks are usually only good for one year though.

i don't see the point in studs on a FWD car. i had a FWD car for long enough to know that there's always a way out unless you're high centered. and if you're high centered, you're ****ed anyway.
my advice, invest in some good all seasons and call it good.

snowtrakker tires... non studded but work better than blizzaks & hell of a lot cheaper.
I run those on the rally car.

friend had studded on his Acura RL. They were great. Used them when we went out to Colorado in late December. No issues at all.

For the 1 or 2 days a year you use them, I'm a fan of chains. You can chow through most anything with them.

wouldnt the studs wear out in a couple days. and what would the point be since most of the main roads dont have ice on em anymore?

i've seen studs last plenty of hard miles on dry pavement. wouldn't do any good right now...
actually i took the escort for a spin on some slippery hills around my area and she pwnd them like a ****ing mountain goat. IF you need someone to pull your Jeep out let me know ;)
seriously though it did well... i think it might be able to do just fine without studs but only time will tell.

Yes they are legal in the winter, no they don't wear out in a couple days, and they are far superior to plain snow tires.
Oh, and they make for neat burnouts in the middle of the summer, on dry pavement, on the back of an IROC.

there's a set of falkens that i'm sure would fit and they have the little ports in them to add studs.
