People go too far when it comes to winter storage IMO. Just throw a cover over the car and call it good. I'm sure you will be getting the car out soon enough the next time the streets are nice and clear anyway.

I agree with Brook for the most part. If it will come out the next time it's nice and dry the cover it and walk away.
If you really aren't going to touch it until april you may as well disconnect the battery, put a little stabil in the tank and make sure the tires are inflated. Then cover it and walk away.
be sure to shut the garage door though...

i let the SS sit in the garage for 4 months right after i bought it w/o driving it b/c i was broke and couldnt license it and it was winter , i didn't do **** as far as winterizing or storing it. Got it out, hit up the gas station and i was good to go. Then again my garage probably only gets down to like 50 degrees

depending on how long it sets, having used oil in there isnt that great.... but since im assuming its an srt-4... you dont have much to worry about

actually bad idea. the most damage and blow by is caused when the engine is cold and the pistons are oval shaped. they allow alot of combustion to leak passed the piston and into the crankcase causing contaminated oil. the best storage over a period of time is to park it and change the oil but do not start it afterward as combustion causes condensation and you dont want that sitting in your engine.... put in fresh oil and fill the filter and put it on and call it good. if you wanted to get uber anal a couple DROPS of oil into each cylinder would not be bad. notice i said couple drops, not gallons....

if he's not goint to change the oil he should get it running about once a week.
but yes the thing to do is change the oil and park it.

I have a neon. That means no leather or sex.
And I just changed the oil before it went in. It should be good now the way it stands then, right?

you start the car. let it fully warm up. drive around the storage garage a couple times. take it from someone who's basically owned ONLY cars that have sat for a while.

Most of my dads cars sit year round. He doesn't do anything with them, most get started once or twice a year and thats it. He does replace batteries every few years when they will no longer hold a charge. Otherwise no fuel stabilizer, nothing. I have never done anything with my camaro besides take the battery out of the pager so it doesnt die.

I feel bad for you that you came back to this winter hellhole. They could have kept you there until the temps were back to the 40s at least.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Sry man, nothing against you. I just can't believe what I'm reading. It's hard to argue this one since nobody has done the research. My cars just sit and sit and sit and always start and run good when I need them.
The longest I ever had a car sit without starting it was just over elleven years. I just changed the fluids plugs and wires and VROOM; fired right up. It did run kinda bad until I filled the tank up. That was a '71 camaro, btw.
