This was back in February. I parked my pickup by a meter downtown on a Saturday at about 11:50 am. By the time I came back out to it it was around midnight, and there was a parking ticket on my windshield. I keep hearing all the rumors of, if you don't have Lancaster plates, you can get 2 parking tickets a year wiped away. Well, I called the number on the ticket, and she confirmed this. So, I mailed Tue ticket to them like they said. Well, a week ago, I got a letter back from them on the mail saying I waited too long to mail them the ticket and the fine still needs to be paid. Do I really need to pay this?

If they said you need to pay it, I would pay it. I dont know what lincolns parking tickets cost, but omaha's is $15 or so. Paying the ticket is better then getting picked up on a warrant and your car impounded just because you didnt pay a little parking ticket

You don't get a warrant for a parking ticket it is not a criminal offense. You can get away with not paying it however it is hardly worth the risk of getting your car booted and impounded which can happen after your 3rd one I believe. Just pay it.

They can only boot it, if it's on the same license plate, right? So, if I got another ticket with a different car, it'd still be ok? I don't live in Lincoln, and hardly ever go there. And I have the opportunity to get a ticket there maybe once a year...if that.

Why would I throw a lot of money into something I bought and intended to last for maybe 6 months? Lol. I did the basics and stuff for subs cause I had it laying around from my previous whip.

Why would I pay the city anything if I don't have to?

Because you broke the law, its a $10 fine, and they told you that you are required to pay it.

only parking tickets you don't have to pay are ones that you get when your car has no plates and is still registered to the previous owner.
that being said,
its a 10 dollar ticket. don't be a cheap ass and just pay the thing.
