I was thinking of having my camaro scaled to help determine if I have the proper spring rates and such. Could you give me an explaination as to what this would involve?

By weighing the car you can get corner weights. This helps to determine spring rates that are required. It also gives you information to figure out center of gravity. Without center of gravity the instant center of rear suspension is useless.
