Ok on thursday night i recieved a reckless driving ticket. Basically i launched at a stop light when it was wet and maybe got up to 40 in a 35. there was no cop in sight or so i thought. About 30 sec later i see the cherries.... Cop never said a word to me about what i did just asked for my paper work came back said ur getting a reckless ticket said keep your foot outta the firewall and went on his way... I was on 17th and A on 17th headed north obviously. he put down 16th and a. Im guessing thats where he was at when he saw me...

My thinking is he was too far away to really see what happend. so a reckless shouldnt stand up. I never got sideways and if he was a block away on a different street he really couldnt have seen much. i paln to talk to the city attorney hear what the officer put in the report and push my side of it. any advice. Other than quit breaking the law asshole....

yeah, if they see your record they will pry laugh at you. but if it goes to court he will have to defend what he wrote on the ticket.

wow really? i did that in omaha it was some class called ADD, it was also for wreckless driving. it was 2 4 hour classes and it was taken off my record. i was told i could only take it once every 5 years or some bullshit. that was when i got arrested on i80.

Your work against theres, honestly, why even bother? Although, I would go to your court date, and plead not guilty, and alot of times they will plee bargin and lessin the charge.

They wont drop it.

Your best be is to go make up some story about how you will lose your job if you lose your licence. Then they might drop it down to a careless driving ticket. Ask me how I know..

make that asshole go to court and testify how, and where he observed you at.
Always fight it, the **** might not even show up. But don't just roll over and plead guilty

I have been told that if the cop ****s up the ticket I will most likely be dropped just tell the you were heading north on 17 th at that time why would you be pulled over on 16th?

Also never admit to anything. They have to prove that what's on the ticket is true and it makes it harder to prove if you don't admit to it

its whats in the police report that counts.... and everyhting i did was in the police report, but i got them to reduce it to careless

if you went to court to fight it wounldn't the trucker have to show up as a witness because the cop didn't see hit happen?

Lincoln may be different then Omaha, but if you get cited for Reckless or Willful Reckless you have to go to court, there is no option. Even though you only receive a ticket, it is still a form of arrest, but in lieu of going to jail, you sign on the line and promise to go to court.

As for the location, Omaha tickets say the location at or near where the violation occurred. 1 block wouldnt get it thrown out.
