Father's Rights of Nebraska is working to change Nebraska law to help curb parent alienation, often victimizing non-custodial parents. Nebraska judges are sexually biased. I urge you all to get involved with this issue as I'm sure each of you either have a personal experience with child custody or know someone who has. If you or someone you know is in the custody process right now, contact Fathers Rights of Nebraska through the website.

cool post... not to many dads on here... but def. something to be aware of.. it's ****ing bullshit how the laws/court system is so sexually bias toward the mother regardless of the situation. I really wish my dad would have got custody of my lil brother.

I just got custody of my daughter after 16 years of child support, she has wanted to live with me since she was 12 but her mom threatened to commit suicide if she left back then and it took another 4 years for my girl to figure out that her mom is full of it. Now she is starving herself telling my kid she can't afford food, what a pile of crap. The whole system is designed to **** over the working man.

Seriously? Do some research that doesn't consist of watching The Hallmark Channel, where men are portrayed as evil war mongering, woman beating and child molesting monsters on a daily basis. It's no wonder you think the way you do with all the media hype against "bad dad's"
Are you aware that 89% of women who do not have cusody of their children do not pay the child support they've been ordered to. Or that the same women can take her children, that she doesn't have custody of to another state (i.e. kidnapping), and she will face no opposition by law officials.
I'm already ranting but I've just touched the tip of the ice berg here, fella's.
To make my point clear, Coop, there doesn't have to be more to the story. All a woman has to do is claim abuse of some sort and the dad is already outgunned. No proof necesary. I urge you to take a serious look into this before you're involved with your own kids, some day, and have to learn the hard way, like so many men already have.

Here's an opprtunity to remind elected officials who they work for and that they're not above the law.
NICK
Attention all members of FRN and other interested parties!!!
Please plan to attend the judicial recusal hearing for Co-founder Curt Morehouse on Feb 15th, 2008 at 11:00AM in courtroom #4. Mr. Morehouse has motioned for the Horrible Judge William B. Zastera to recuse himself from the custody case he is presently presiding over, case CI00-433.
Judge Zastera has ruled unfairly in the past, has lied to Mr. Morehouse, has had ex parte communication with Mr. Morehouse, and has yelled at Mr. Morehouse in the courtroom for simply asking questions.
Mr. Morehouse started an anti-retention effort in 2006 to stop Judge Zastera from being retained, and placed a 30 foot banner across from the courthouse, asking voters not to retain Judge Zastera in the November 2006 elections.
Mr. Morehouse's recusal motion included the preceeding statements, thereby informing the judge of these events, although it is obvious from his behaviour that he already knew about them. Mr. Morehouse's motion also referenced case law (State v. Baker 1988) which REQUIRES jdges to recuse themselves upon request if they've had any ex parte communications regarding a case.
Let's FILL THE COURTROOM!!!!! WATCH A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE UNFOLD IN FRONT OF YOUR VERY EYES AS THE JUDGE WILL PRESUMABLY NOT HAVE THE COURAGE TO ADMIT HIS BIAS!
People, I've answered your calls, shown you how to file papers, recommended lawyers, answered your posts, etc. PLEASE come to this hearing on Feb 15th, 2008 at 11:00AM in courtroom #4 and show this maverick judge we are united in our fight for justice and equality!!!!
PLEASE!!!! Curt Morehouse

This month's topic is "The Parenting Act", which is THE new law controlling almost everything having to do with custody since January 1st, 2008, when the new law took effect.
If you're going to court, chances are either you (if a Pro Se litigant) or your attorney will be referencing some part of this Act when making your case. There are parts of this law that EVERYONE needs to know about. Ignorance isn't bliss, it's costly.
After the Meeting, the Leadership of the FRN will be providing free pizza. This will be a good opportunity to meet and greet other members on a more personable level.
The Meeting details are below and we look forward to seeing you this Thursday.

Monthly Meeting this Thursday:
This is a reminder that the Fathers' Rights of Nebraska's next meeting is this coming Thursday, March 20th starting at 7:00 PM. The meeting location is at the American Legion, Post #1. http://www.fathersrightsne.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1065
While the topic of the Election may sound boring, Nebraska's 2000 vote for "term-limits" have made our State's elections very interesting indeed! 15 out of 49 Senators (31%) are ineligible to run again. Therefore, AT LEAST 31% of the Legislators and Senators will be new + several more are contested~ so, almost 50% of the seats have a chance to change hands this year. This has never before happened in Nebraska's history and you have an unprecedented chance to influence the makers of our law towards our cause. This is it. This is our chance.
We're going to be discussing strategy to pack the Legislature/Senate with Father and Family-friendly lawmakers. Member Hearing this Monday: I know it's short notice, but if you have time and opportunity to go to the Sarpy County Courthouse this coming Monday, please support Mr. Boyer.

HUGE APRIL MEETING
Date: Thursday, April 17th
-Meeting Time: 7:00-9:00 PM
-Location: 115 S. 49th Ave., Omaha, NE 68132
The meeting will be in the UNO, UNMC Collaborating Center, which is located at 115 S. 49th Ave., Omaha, NE 68132 (1 block South of Dodge on 49th Ave. between an apartment complex and an architectural firm).
There is additional parking on the East side of the buildings.
>
> =============================================
>
> 1st~ we've invited ALL 73 Legislative Candidates to attend our 1st-ever Legislative Town Hall meeting, scheduled to take place on our usual Thursday meeting night, April 17th at 7:00 PM.
>
> BE ADVISED, that out of concern for space we've moved this meeting (AND ONLY THIS MEETING) to the UNO/UNMC Collaborating Center for the month of April. For more specifics, please see the link here: http://www.fathersrightsne.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1088.
> Additional parking is available East of the building.
>
> This will be an opportunity for YOU to ask questions of those who will make our law, so don't miss this opportunity.
>
> 2nd~ By proclamation of the Governor of the State of Nebraska (and 10 other states), April 25th is recognized as Parental Alienation Awareness day. Every year on this date, the Fathers' Rights of Nebraska will hold local rallies in support of our families at our County courthouses.
>
> FOR ONE HOUR (7:00 PM - 8:00 PM on April 25th), we're encouraging YOU to show, by public unity, that we value our families and want them protected by the law and in our Courts. This is not a protest, but a demonstration in support of our families. Obviously, the 1st year of this rally may be sparsely attended and (particularly, in portions of the State where the event is not well publicized), but someone has to stand up for our families and that's us!
>
> I want to thank everyone who is posting responses to other people's questions. The FRN works because it's not dependant upon a single person to do everything. Instead, it's built upon a network of people each helping out in ways they are able.
We're going to need 5-10 volunteers who are willing to help make the event successful.
>
> Some of the needs:
> Someone to "man" the information table, greeters (who'll point people to the information table), someone to kind of help the candidates know what they're supposed to do and when, someone to direct people to the available parking, someone to video-record the event, etc...
>
