OMG this thread is full of my type of people.
Can't agree more. Stop being a trendy ***** and save your hard earned money and buy something cheaper with windows that will get the job done.

If you install Windows on them they can. My take on it is if you need to run Windows programs then why not just get a pc? The mac obviously can't do everything you need.
I'll be the first to admit that the Mac's look cool but it's hard to justify spending that kind of money on something if it won't do everything you need.

I'm forced to use one of the new iMacs at work, I hate it.
About the only good thing I can say about it is that it looks nice.
Unimportant things like usability obviously didn't cross apple's mind when designing it.
The monitor is mounted on some minimalist but neat looking stand that only moves up and down a little bit. If you need to move the monitor left/right your out of luck, you just have to turn the entire computer.
The CD drive is mounted along the thin outer right side edge, you have to turn the whole computer sideways (cause the base doesn't swivel) because even if you know where it is, the very edge of the housing is clear and when you look through it to locate the slot, the refracted light makes it appear to be where it's not so you end up turning the monitor anyway or jamming your CD into the side of your computer 5 or 6 times before getting the right spot.
The speakers are mounted on the bottom of the monitor firing directly into ... the freaking desk. Perfect. So if I want to have clear sound coming from the speakers I can tilt the monitor up and almost have them point at my crotch.
Obviously the 4''x20'' space below the screen was a terrible location for them, I can see why you would fill that entire space with nothing but an Apple logo.
Other things that don't make an appearance in any useable location on the computer : USB/Firewire ports, Headphone/Microphone jacks, Power/Reset buttons. Of course these are all located directly in the back of the computer that doesn't have a swiveling base, forcing you again to just turn the whole thing around.
Now for some peripherals : The keyboard is a keyboard, not much you can say about it. I personally don't like the action on the keys, they feel to slow to me, but not everybody types 100WPM so I don't think this is a huge deal.
The mouse on the other hand is a huge freaking pile of crap. Lets get started with the basic buttons, right/left click. Apple had to brilliant idea of developing a 2 button mouse with only one physical button surface. It may appear to be one button, but pressing on the right/left sides of the single plastic button are actually separate buttons. Worst idea ever. It doesn't work worth ****, almost everything registers as a left click unless you are very obvious about pressing the right side of the mouse, maybe this is why OSX by default sets both right and left click to just be left click. There is another set of mouse buttons mounted way on the bottom sides of the mouse featuring another brilliant Apple idea : buttons that don't actually move or make noise or give you any kind of feedback that would indicate you pressed the button. So just like the right click, these buttons are completely worthless and never used. Moving on the worst part of the whole thing, the mouse wheel. I shouldn't say wheel, it's more of a ball, capable of scrolling up/down and left/right, seems like a good idea, but the execution is horrible. First of all the scroll wheel is about the size of a pea, it's freaking tiny, and there is almost no resistance at all to it, there are no defined clicks it just simply spins. Here's the best part, unless you clean it every few days it breaks. We have 13 iMacs in my office and 100%, yes ALL of them have broken scrollwheels. And finally we have the scroll wheel click. Pressing down on the scroll wheel is a common thing, however once again Apple has made this a useless button. Since the scroll wheel is so freaking tiny and only protrudes about 4 millimeters out of the single button shell, but requires you to push it in almost twice that distance, unless your finger is the size of a toothpick it's IMPOSSIBLE to click it without clicking both right and left click simultaneously.
Don't even get me started on OSX, and please don't even try to tell me Windows runs better on Apple PCs.
Don't buy one.
