****! I don't have it saved anymore. I used to have it in one of my saved PMs on the old SCR.
Ya, the calculator you are thinking of is great.

Didn't Brook have a better one where you could just select from certain gear ratios and transmissions?

The site Brook used to post owned that one. It gave you your speed for each gear and all kinds of ****. It was sweet. It was on a Mustang site or something I think, IIRC.

I'm pretty sure the Torino needs 4.56's
http://www.car-videos.net/tools/speedrpm.asp?Car=Select&Num1=275&Num2=40&Num3=17&AxleRatio=4.56&Ratio1=2.66&Ratio2=1.78&Ratio3=1.3&Ratio4=1&Ratio5=.8&Ratio6=.63&Ratio7=&Redline=6500&Increment=500&B1=Recalculate
40 in first gear is a decent run, nice to know when you need to stop accelerating when you're ****ing around on the street. Even the Lightning only does 40-45 in first gear (keeping in mind it doesn't rev as high). Top speed, 166, I can live with that. Cruising speed of 80 at 3100 RPM, I can live with that, it's only 300 RPM more than the Lightning turns at 80. Every time you tell someone you want to run 4.56's like you're ****ing stupid. Everyone else is stupid for not running 4.56's. And it will be a 9 inch and the rearend I buy will probably come with a 2.79 in it, so if I want to cruise at a lower RPM, I'll be an hour of work from doing so.

With 2.79's I can go 272 MPH :woot:

It's soooooooo true. The average person is used to SBC's that redline at 5k and would explode after 40mph with 4.56s. Get with the times, people. I haven't even looked at the calculations, but I would think 4.56s would be your best bet. I doubt you would use all of your 4th gear unless you were trapping 120mph or more.
Speaking of geared 32v's with T56's, MM&FF's took a Shelby months back and ran a 11.7 at like 115mph with a pulley, tune, and tires. IIRC. After that they threw the factory 3.33 or whatever gearing in the trash, and installed 4.30s. The car dropped to 11.20's at 119mph. :nervous::lol:

If i wanted to run 4.56's with a lower cruising speed too, Ford is the only one using a .63 6th gear, I could shove one of the .5 6th gears in it and be golden.
Although looking at 4th gear, 6500 RPM is only 105. It'll trap higher than that sooner or later, do I really want to hit 5th gear in a 1/4 mile?
