$2K would get me to a really nice spot with mine as well... add in another $6K on top of that and I could do my body/paint and have a very nice car! :(

Hillbilly
21st May 2010, 10:46 AM
Paint never made a car faster.

21st May 2010, 02:00 PM
What's the cut off line at MAM or 1/8th mile before you have to cage it? That'll be my goal!

Hillbilly
21st May 2010, 02:03 PM
Quicker than your sbc will run.

ADV1
21st May 2010, 02:34 PM

Hillbilly

Hand throttle in, suspension checked for tightness, oil levels checked, everything greased. Found the bumper is loose so have to tighten that but otherwise ready for some wheeling, drinking, boating, and fun.

I suppose I'd go off roading too if I knew one of my BBC's were going to get beat by a small block again.

On that note I hate all vehicles and plan to be fishing.

Hillbilly
25th May 2010, 01:56 PM
Your right Lepa I fail at life.

Lepa
25th May 2010, 02:39 PM

Hillbilly

I am anything but scared of any dirt track rejects or anything late model saved from a junkyard. I have proven many times I can build a engine as good as anyone. Just wait till I win the Pickrell Truck pulls with my $500 454.

Lepa
25th May 2010, 03:48 PM
I'm talking about Aric's motor.

Hillbilly
25th May 2010, 04:04 PM
400 is a dirt track motor, that or station wagon. Thin cylinders walls are not good for ring seal, Oil+NOS=Detonation.

Lepa
25th May 2010, 04:30 PM
Sorry I didn't know what a dirt track motor was. Sounds like a lot of good things though. I r ruhtarded.

Hillbilly
25th May 2010, 04:37 PM
Why are you sorry? I just don't like them. I am sure it will run hard but mine would be 1/2 full of hard block.

Lepa
25th May 2010, 04:41 PM
Sorry for being stupid and not knowing chevy motors.

Hillbilly
25th May 2010, 05:06 PM
Now you know and knowing is half the battle.

 I love you man! That's toooooo funny.... I guess no-one has ever run NOS on a 400 before and been successfull... What am I thinking??? :lost::lost::lost:

Hillbilly
25th May 2010, 05:28 PM
Oh I am sure its been done but there is a pile of broken 400 blocks at the machine shop with split cylinders and broken blocks. The cylinders are thin. I would go with a PBM block if I felt like sbcs were good for anything but bank filler, anchors or demo derby motors.
