I replaced every brake component last year as the previous owner put oil in the brake system, and now I'm having a problem where the brakes are dragging. After driving for a while, at certain times, the pedal will only have about 1-2 inches of travel and there is a ton of pressure on it. I'm not sure if there is something in the lines again, my abs pump is acting up, or something is funky with my brake booster. it doesn't really have a pattern of when it acts up, but it seems like it does it least in stop and go traffic kinds of situations. If you have any simple suggestions on what to check, I'd really appreciate it.

I also have my abs light on, and it has been on since I bought the car, so anyone that has a scan tool that does that would also be appreciated.

bleed your brakes, make sure theirs no air in em. then check and make sure your parking break didnt somehow tighten on you. and check if all ur hoses are hooked on your brake booster correctly

ABS is for wussies, just get rid of it. And do what Ross suggested.

This is the most common problem with brakes and since you replaced the brakes that would be my beat. Also make sure the fluid is full and the cap is securely closed because those two can also cause that problem. Hope that helps.

I am hoping to get them bled this weekend, and I'll double check to see if it the hose is connected properly to the intake manifold.

take out your ABS

I would be all over that, but I'm going to make an attempt to get it working as i almost got smoked by a semi when my car locked up on the interstate last december.

sounds like air in the lines like others stated

I bled all four brakes, and all fluids were clear and aside from a few really tiny air pockets, they were all fluid, I did notice that the driver's front caliper looked like I had been riding it for quite some time, so I'm going to replace that when I get my car back and I'll give an update at that time.
