So i have been reading around and come to find out there are people with New Edges running stock suspension with M/T DR's and 4:10's and launching at around 4500 rpm and bogging on the launch
but my car running the stock suspension, M/T DR's, and 4.10's while dropping the air pressure, doing a decent burnout, and only launching around 2500 rpm seems to spin a lot even feathering the throttle
I know this is probably difficult to solve over the internet but any ideas on what i could check?
Oh and for power mods all i have is an o/r h pipe, cat back, and the typical k&N so it should still be making close to stock hp

Any noises when driving or shifting? Could be a suspension part thats not doing so well. When you did your burnout that one night, you're rear kept hopping up and down as you were burning out. That just doesn't seem right lol

Try not reading the Ford boards for awhile and see if that helps.
Are you talking about launching on the street or track?

yeah your right about the hopping but what i finally started doing is holding th rpm's higher to get rid of the hopping
maybey i should try changing my control arm bushings? or is there a way i can just lube them up for now until i can afford new control arms

I think there is something up with his suspension because his burnout was funky, it kept hoppin up and down like maybe bad rear shocks or something. Instead of a nice constant tirescreech, it was like "rrr..rrr...rrrr...rrr...rrr"

I don't even want to know how bad my car would spin at the track if its doing it this bad on the street

You'd actually do better at the track I'd think, since you're running mickey thompsons.

but when i took the fox to the track it wouldn't hook up

No ****. Those ****ers probably have thousands of dollars into their "stock" suspension.

well probably the most dissapointing thing about the M/T is they really aren't much better for hooking up than my normal street tires,
thats why i am wondering if something is up with my rear suspension
so is there anyway to lube up the stock control arm bushings or do i just have to get new ones?

How old are your M/T's?about a year old and i never did any burnouts on them until i put them on my 04 back in the spring
and even then i never really did any big burnouts until this fall

Huh.
Maybe you aren't heating them up good enough? ****, I don't know.

Launching on the street seems to be hit or miss anyways. Some spots you can launch hard and others you'll just spin forever

Maybe you aren't heating them up good enough? ****, I don't know.yeah i don't know either its got me puzzled
and one more thing i forgot to mention about the age of the M/T's is I don't keep these tires on all the time i usually take them off when I'm not racing

I could spin into 3rd gear on newer pavement. Old pavement was a dead hook even on cold tires. You gotta be careful about that.

but i know places where i have launched my old fox body at with a 5K clutch drop and chirped and went i can't hook with this car in the same spot

I have my doubts on M/T's sometimes. I know they are a great tire, but it seems that a LOT of people ***** about them more then usual. It makes me wonder if they have quality issues or something at times?

I have thought about trying these before

Mattmotto would be the one to ask, since he runs them on the street. Personally I would never rely on them for my only drag tire, but that is just me. The BFG is a better tire, but won't last as long.

You have 410;s in that *****? Now i have to race you.
also, nittos are good for driving a lot, hook up better on street, but have been said to be like a street tire at the track unless you do a john force burn out.

Put something other than stock control arms on there. That nasty creak from the rear is wasted control arm bushings. Even just some low buck tubular arms with poly bushings would net you some improvement by preventing axle wrap up and preserving your instant center of gravity.

That nasty creak from the rear is wasted control arm bushings. Is it pretty common for the stock ones to be shot even with only 53k miles?
or since you said my car has been wrecked do you think someone just threw ones on from another car possibly since it was hit in the rear quarter panel
