nice exhaust hanger.
$2500 isn't THAT cheap for what you ended up with...
Should be a good summer as long as we don't get hurt too bad.
Burntz
6th April 2010, 01:54 AM
Well Im going to sell 1 of the sets of side plastics. Theres 250 bucks.
Extra clutch basket? 80 bucks.
That radial is like 170 new.
Hohey bracket = 170.
Hohey rearsets = 205
Taillight = 8" LED bar from chet lol
Steel braided lines arn't cheap
Plus the extra 4 piston caliper for the rear
It'd be a normal deal if it was a salvage title. Decent buy overall I think. Nothing too crazy to fix, and its pretty much what I was looking for
Oh, and I have the exhaust hanger, I just need a bolt for it lol
Trick
6th April 2010, 01:57 AM
you're gonna sell the hohey rearsets?!? or you're just adding up the extras?

Steel braided lines arn't cheap
Which is why you should buy mine for $15 cheaper than HAI, I even have some stickers from them I'd give ya. :)

6th April 2010, 02:09 AM
Not selling the HoHey rearsets, even tho I know a handful of people who'd love to pick them up, for more then new, cuz they're backordered forever and ever lol.
I only plan on selling the set of side fairings, clutch basket, and trading chet the taillight for a LED bar. Might sell the stay if I decide to stay streetfighter. Been pondering going full fairing but I plan on wrecking alot this summer, so idk ha
Trick
6th April 2010, 02:13 AM
I'd love to go full fairing... I think I'll wait a year though.

Yes, sit on tank and do spreaders, or put your legs over the handlebars and do high chairs. You put grip tape on the tank so when you sit in it you dont fly off it lol.
And hole = for foot, flamingo standupss

you guys arnt too bright sometimes. It looks like total ass right now. I know. $40 worth of sandpaper and paint and it'll look way better.
Don't judge a book by it's cover. It runs amazing, has alot of nice parts, I'm the second owner, clean title.
I could sell all the aftermarket and extra parts, buy an upper fairing, and repaint it nicely and get 3000 for the bike and 700 in parts. Easy.
Give this worklog 2 weeks and I think you'll be a bit surprised

being beat is a loose term when it comes to bikes. F4i's draw oil from the rear, so doing a wheelie is about the same as riding normal. Unless he was doing chainsaw's, which is doubtful, the motor is about perfect. Ryan had 34,000 "beat to ****" miles on his 636, and it ran perfect till he did a chainsaw. The only things you wear out doing wheelies is the clutch plates.
He just did things the easy way, likes bolts/washers instead of factory bolts, etc. Ill replace them all, make it back to normal, and it'll be a damn solid bike.
I made this worklog to illustrate the progress the bike is making, and not for a buncha people who have no idea about bike ****, to slam on it. You "supposedly" know dsm's, so stick to that, and if you're interested in this, keep an eye on it and watch the progress with intelligent questions or comments.
Thanks

for sure. we got it covered. Chet and ryan both went through the motorcycle program at scc, and with as much as I've had to work on them, I know em real well anyway.
I probably have a good radiator on the way. Picking up the line for my HB thursday. Have new pads for the HB. It'll be the way I want it to look in a month. By next spring it'll be 100% damn sexy and perfect. Just a project. It'll get messed up here and there as a stuntbike. Whatever. If you're not wrecking, you're not taking risks.

The paint job is a ten footer for sure. Slapped a little bondo on the tank to smooth out the dent a bit. It'll get redone real nice this winter. Need to get the front fender on. Will go without side fairings for awhile.
The brakes were annoying. I had to grab some mounting bolts for the rear handbrake caliper from our favorite guy KyleJ at Autozone. Then I had to wait 4 days to get a double banjo bolt and caliper pins. Got em all workin now though. Might throw Chet's extra master on for the handbrake until I get my Brembo Radial sorted out.
Now my headlight just needs to get here! And I need to get an LED brakelight lol
Just remembered that I need to put my tailsaver back on. Damnit lol

yeah i've talked to pat about it a few times, doesn't look like its too hard to pick up a bike thats stunt ready, or somewhat close to it. which is probably would i'd try to do. it'd be fun transforming it to a stunt bike, but idk if id be able to haha. how i've looked at it so far is if i wreck my bike bad enough that the insurance company wants to total it, i'll just buy it back and turn it into a stunt bike. but till then i'll stick to my little pussy wheelies :D

Radiator is jbwelded, then sprayed with liquid duct tape. I know its the rigged way of doing it, but when you can't find a decent radiator anywhere, and new ones are $600, why not spend $8 fixing it?
It works fine now haha. So it works for me.
Also, nick, I really dont care if you're being sarcastic or not. If ya cant appreciate, dont spectate.
The bike has definately made some progress. It'll look even better once I get the headlight and tail light on, also need to buff the paint. New pipe would be nice.
Ill bring the bike out one of these fridays when ya'll are cruising and you can see the bike in person and judge it ha.

Burntz
15th April 2010, 10:46 PM
I bet that JB weld and the Liquid Duct tape are good for beyond 220 degrees. I also bet, that after wiring up the fan to a switch, that it wont run too hot. Ill go with Engine Ice if I have to. Chets bike never goes above 180. It'll be fine.

andddd a shitty wheelie pic. I fkin suck so far. My legs are bent cuz I was working on bringing my weight back. I also need to re-adjust my handbrake/clutch positions so I wasn't getting to play around with braking much. Not to mention this bike's gearing is a huge step to get used to. Im seriously debating switching the combo out for a 16/55 setup (+10), instead of my current 15/64 setup (+22), as I have a brand new stock vortex front.

not half bad. Once I get the fender / sides on, it'll look much better. All in due time. I can't ****ing find somewhat affordable insurance for it to save my life. Rediculous.

They want 140 or somethin for the first month and 70 a month after that, on top of the 200 I already pay for my jeep a month. Its crazy.

Bike now has an actual Key Ignition system, instead of a flip switch wired in haha. Win.

-Finally put the front fender on.
-Re-working the sides with some smoothing and paint. Then those will be going on.
-Got a dam near brand new take-off tire from Star City, and got it mounted on the wheel, for $28.
-A better shape radiator is on the way, gonna have that radiator shop on O street make sure it's LEGIT, then its goin on the bike.

Been making some progress on making the bike full fairing and a bit more streetable
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs412.snc4/47535_10150267035910484_553605483_14655102_458959_ n.jpg
I got the headlight wires up, everything works. Need to put the other side fairing on, dremel a hole for the cage on both sides, and put the cage back on.
Oh and the front fender is just sitting there. The tabs broke off so we need to fix that before we can put it back on lol.
Also contemplating picking up a normal minty tail fairing and getting an undertail for it, and buying a round bar to put on it. Hmm
edit: like so:

the one on it is OEM, hah. You mean "non chopped" oem tail ;)
But yea, by next winter I'll have a minty tail barely cut for a round bar. Looks a million times better
