The z28 is sittin on stands in a barn west of Mullen, I blew head gasket on the 355 on the second trip down the strip, Since then my wife and daughter have taken precedent! No pics of the eclipse as I'm at my 7:30 -5 prizon. May have seen it though, white, carbon fiber hood, blitz bumper, o2 dump, still turning the hell outta the t25 for the time bein. Hopefully my tx refunds have somethin to say about that!!

uicp....is it that short elbow with the 1g bov flange on it?

http://www.15psi.com/Eclipse%20G1%20BOV.jpg

that pipe? cuz i have one of those.

mine's minus the tab though....in fact it might be shortened...i'd need to look at it to remember

That looks like what I was sent with the 1g bov, and is off a 1g. I could make it work with some customizing, the problem I'm running into is the angle of the recirculation hose. I have an aftermarket intake on the car. I thought someone in the area may have a 2g aftermarket pipe for sale, ex. brode uicp pipe. Thanks for tryin though!:)

ah i gotcha.

yeah i got this pipe with the 1g bov i bought.

and i ran into the same problem. the direction of the flange on the pipe makes it awkward for a custom setup.

Hmmm, I never seem to have any issues venting with "big cams". Maybe it has more to do with the fact that you are venting after the air has already been read by the maf.

I have a 2.5" UICP with 1G style bov flange for sale.

My bad, goin off false info.... 2nd year. As for vent problem, It seems the lope of the cams might be what is messin up the idle, just very sporadic, always jumpin from 400-1100, so I figured I'd start w/recirculating correctly. I expected a little idle problems with 272's, think it could be less vacuum?

While recirculating the BOV is critical to the car not running like ass it's not going to solve your idle issue. The BOV is closed at idle so whether you recirculate it or not isn't going to make a bit of difference since it's closed. 272's are going to make it idle a bit rougher but you're not going to see a 700 rpm swing with them. You've got other issues.

um.....IIRC 1g DSM BOV's don't close at idle. at least the one on my car didn't.

um.....IIRC 1g DSM BOV's don't close at idle. at least the one on my car didn't.

I stand corrected.

Factory spec is negative 7.7 psi (53.3 KPa) which would be around 15.67 in. Hg

Factory spec for vacuum at idle is 18.9 in. Hg so with a good strong motor it would have enough vacuum to open it.

I suppose it didn't matter in the factory design if it stayed closed since it was recirculating anyways. All the more reason to keep it recirculated.

thats what i thought. i recirculated mine when i ran it becuause of that very reason. my engine pulls almost -20psi of vacuum and kept the valve open.

All you have to do is crush it to solve that issue. I ran a crushed 1G BOV on my car for awhile and it would stay closed at idle.

it wasnt an issue for me. i just recirculated it. when i got my replacement BOV i then used my other turbo inlet pipe that doesnt have the recirc feed.

So you have cams, yet your still on a t-25?? Bet those arn't helpin much, seeing as your turbo can't keep up where the big cams are actually helping the most.(high rpm) What else do you have done to it? Good to have another dsm'r around!
