Bought the truck about 3 years ago, has 8 inch lift springs 3 inch body 39 inch super swapers, rebulit 454, 10bolts with 4:56s. Had a th350 when I bought it, blew it up and in the process of putting in a 4spd so I decided to make a WL becuase I started working on it again today.
What it looked like when I bought it.

Worked all day and got the parts truck stripped, pulled the tranny, t-case, pedal assembly, brackets for the mechanical clutch linkage, and the steering column. Had a bunch of pics but failed at uploading them and accidentally delated all of them except one. After that was done I began to reinstall the pedal assembly in my big truck, got the pedals and the steering column back in. Tomorrow I am going to cut the hole in the floor and hopefully get the the tranny in. Getting closer to getting it done iching to get it done so I can drive it.

Didn't get as much done today, but I got the the tranny and bell housing cleaned up, got the hole drilled for the clutch linkage and went and bought a ps pump. Couple questions, got the linkage just set up and since I have a body lift it looks like I need a spacer for the frame bracket. Does the sound right? Is there anything else I need to change.
Here is a pick of the linkage.

Parkinson's??? Yeah, you might have to adjust something there. I haven't dealt with a body lift so I am not sure. I would think spacing it up might cause it to bind though. Can you just lengthen the linkage from the clutch pedal to the z-bar to make up the difference?

Yeah I f uped the cell phone pics. Thats what I thought I would have to do is lengthin clutch pedal linkage to the z-bar, but when I got it all mocked up the z bar lined up with the engine and clutch linkage just not the frame bracket. It confused me I thought it would be the other way around.

I had to move the Z-bar bracket in closer on Wade's K10 when I did his.
I had to drill new holes in the bracket and move it closer so that the z-bar would not pop off the balls it rotates on. I am not sure what you will have to do with out seeing it in person.

Got the clutch installed along with the tranny and t-case today. It looks like I am gonna have to lengthin the clutch linkage rod. The z-bar lined up directly with the bracket. It does look like I will have to move the frame bracket in closer to the bell housing as you explained with Wades truck. Had to redrill the crossmember bolts which wasn't to big of deal . Rear driveshift fit perfectly. Wanted to use my t-case from the auto but had different spline count so I used to one form the doner truck . All in all went pretty smoothly can't wait to get it running.
Heres a pick of the Llinkage again.

Yeah, the TH350 uses a 27 spline ouptut, the SM465 uses a 32 spline ouptut. That being said, you can swap input shaft and all other parts between the two cases, so don't throw it away.

Today I ran into a few problems, One the tranny wont go into gear. It is full of fluid. I tried rocking the truck back in forth and it wont budge. It will move if the transfer case is in neutral. Also I can turn the engine over. Any Ideas? I hope i didn't screw anything up.
Next hooked everything up to fire it, and when I turn the key over nothing happens. Check all the wiring a couple of times, There is a red dash light that pop on that says park brake. Could this be because I switch columns, There is One wire plug in that the new column does not have. I have no idea on this one again.
If you have any ideas that would be greatly aprreciated **** Im frustrated.

Not quite sure on the tranny not shifting. If I was in Lincoln, I would swing over and look, but I am not. I am wondering if it is something to do with the transfer case binding it up.

When you put your shifter back in did you get it back in the center? Was it in gear? I pulled mine the first time when it was in gear and didn't get the shifter in the right place.

Yeah, you could have it wedged in two gears at the same time. That was my initial thought, but you said that it shifted when the transfer case was in neutral. That is such a simple check that you should pop the shifter out and check that the shift rails are all lined up correctly and that you are getting the shifter in the neutral slot. That is if you haven't already checked that of course.

Got everything sorted out today. The tranny was stuck in 2 gears, and it was the the neatral safety switch. Thanks alot guys was a big help. Got it fired up today just for a bit don't have the radiator on yet. But it did fire right up with a little gas in the carb. The clutch still needs a little work . I lengthed the clutch rod 2inches and I still does not seem like enough because when I turn it over in gear with the clutch pedal all the way down it still jumps forward. I think it needs another inch to get the clutch fully disengaged. Have the adjustement on the clutch fork all the way out. so I think it needs a little more length in the clutch rod. Tommorrow gonna get the front clip on and hopefully should be cruising around.

Why would I want a hand throttle?
I put one on my K30 after my first trip to Tuttle because sometimes on the rocks you need to operate the clutch, brakes, and throttle at the same time. Then after I had it on there, I realized how much I loved it just for driving around every day. I went ahead and installed one on my Burban as well. I rarely use the clutch when driving either of them, and the hand throttle makes it really easy to float gears, especially downshifts.

Have any pics of the hand throttle set up?

If you can wade through all the other random BS, there should be a few pictures in my Suburban work log (titled Rusty Piece of ****) and in my K30 worklog (titled Rusty Piece of **** Two). I just ordered a kit from Rubicon Express. It was like $29.99 or something. Jake and Joe both made fun of me for buying a kit instead of just getting used pieces from a bicycle. Then we went to Tuttle, and both Jake and Matt had troubles with their used bike setups. I have never had any troubles with my two purchased kits.

Didn't replace the mounts but they are in good shape. My old crossmember has a notch in it were the front driveshaft came out, the new crossmember just goes straight across. Thinkin about just cutting the old crossmember notch out and welding and it into the new crossmember. If that make anysense at all. Need to post pics.

This has been finished since the begining of last summer. His 79 is what he needs to finish. Last I knew the 3/4 ton axles and SM465/NP205 where in and he drove it around the block. Just needs to finish little ****.

Well went and picked up my truck from my dads. I haven't drove it for a year since last Americruise. Just going to fix some things on it. I need to rehang the doors they are starting to sag. and line up the fenders.
PS pump went out again, so need to install that and also ordered a drop pitman arm. Got new trans mounts and need to put in the front drive shaft. Valve covers are leaking so got new gaskets. I think it needs rear brake shoes. Lastly got a 160 degree thermostat because it seems to run to hot with the 185. and thats about it.
Back home.

I have a speedway aluminum radiator with there dual electric fan setup on it. Cruising down the highway with the fans off it will climb past 210. with the fans on it will stay at 190 195ish.

That's about right. Take your thermostat out and drill two 1/8' holes in it.
