Here is my work log on my 1994 Mustang GT. I bought the car in june of 2009 with 116,000 miles on it. the car was hit on the driver side in the quarter panel and totalled it out. The owners never turned in the title and sold the car as is. It only ever had 1 owner and was an lady. so pretty much the interior was in perfect condition and i really doubted it was drove that hard. It was completely stock. i paid $1200 for it and borrowed a friends tow dolly for $20 and took the car straight to school at scc in milford. i go there for auto body. I knew mostly what i needed for the car right away so i just began to dismantle it all and strip it down.

heres what it looked like when i brought it in.

replacement parts :woot:

i then got it up on the frame machine. the frame was not really bent at all. so that was good, but needed some sectioning done to the quarter panel and the rocker panel. i just used used parts for the quarter and rocker. i was not allowed to do this all because i was only in my painting class but was allowed to help when the quarter and rocker were being done.

all the parts i had to replace where the quarter, rocker, driver side door, fender, mirror, rear bumper cover, tail light, and rear axle. i used a cobra rear axle that was used and had about 57,000 miles on it. This consisted of all the body work that was needed to the car. since i was refinishing it all and repainting it i also repaired and flaws i found in the car. It was a lot of time put into this... When i decided to replace the rear bumper i used the v6 bumper because it only had the 'Mustang' on it. i liked it better that way and also ordered the original mustang pony tags for the fenders. at the time i removed the ford badge. im not a hater of fords or trying to hide it. i just wanted it to be all mustang. i had intentions of making the car a sleeper but didnt really follow through much because then i ordered a fiberglass 2000 cobra R hood that had a 2 inch cowl and also the heat reduction rolls on it.

pictures of the body work being done

after i had my body work almost done i needed to decide on a color. i ended up going with a color that represented the original 94 tri-coat red. but changed it up a bit and went with custom color made by toyota that had alot of gold pearl in it and flashed out very nicely in the sun.

i was pretty satisfied with how the car came out. i reassemble and this is what i got

i was done with the car and about to take it home and found out my back breaks were completely shot, so while i was at school just moved it to automotive and had new brake calipers, rotors, and pads all put on the rears. The car was done finally. i drove it home and around the neighborhood that week, about 50 miles, and then parked it in my garage because it was right before winter hit.

Things i have planned for it: liscense it:rolleye: and chrome fr500's 17x9 in front and 17x10.5 in rear. all wrapped in nitto nt555's. suspension upgrades. not sure on actual ones yet. but ill add pics when i do. i did just buy a cold air intake for it though lol. i also plan on doing my "freebies" like removing smog. many more things. thats all i can afford at the moment though being a broke college student. i wanna make it a fun street car and something i can learn some mechanic work on too because i dont know any.

Very nice. I was looking at this car before I picked up my 94 5.0. I was tearing up inside cause I didn't want it to get raped for parts.

It looks great though!!!!

thanks
yea that was one thing i was worried about but i got him down to that price and i knew id be doing all the labor for free. it came out being a little more expensive than i thought but thats only because i decided to put on that hood and then the brakes. when it was all said in done i had somewhere from $4200-4500 into the car, including buying it. at the time i mostly bought it cause if it was too trashed to fix i had a 95 v6 in good condition, i coulda just used the 94 as a donor car.

I tried to get Nick to steal the full black leather interior from you but he would do it. No one would have ever noticed right.

update: 3-12-10

ok well one thing i notice i forgot to mention was i also had a cobra spoiler for the car. one thing that i noticed after i painted it all though was the cobra spoiler had the rear brake light in it, not the deck lid, while my stock gt deck lid has the brake light too.... so i have an extra back brake light now in easier terms. so i never wired the spoiler. just because i wasnt sure how the rear end would look like while breaking, probably like a ****ing christmas tree.. but figured i will soon just to see it.

i just bought my wheels. chrome fr500's. 17x9 in front and 17x10.5 in back. sumitomo HTR Z tires. eibach pro dampers struts, and shocks. eibach sport lowering springs. about 1.7in in front and 1.5in in rear. J&M rear upper and lower control arms. aluminum 4-bolt caster camber plates. and 5% tint. the parts should all be arriving in the next. i plan on installing everything at once. prob wont get to do it until april. so about a month. im pretty excited to get it all done and the car going. ill post pics when im installing and after.

Kinda cool car. Should have left it wingless though.

That gash in the side reminds me of my old F-100. I miss that truck.

Should have left it wingless though.

I disagree.

Personally I'd eliminate one of them. Whichever is easiest.

is it a manual? 3.73's would be good for a 5 spd, but if you're runnin an auto, definitely go with 4.10s you'll be very happy.
