Why did I get that ticket for going probably 10mph, hit a patch of ice, locked the breaks, gained a little speed, flipped the back end around, went up a curb, and hit a tree?

I didn't intentionally hit the ****ing tree.
Wasn't breaking any laws by going 10 mph.

I could see some other tickets behind an accident, but i didn't think this would be the one.

neg.driving is a "cover all". Cops can give it and not spend an hour trying to figure out exactly what laws you broke. Your vech. made an illegal turn and probably crossed a lane without use of a blinker. By flipping the curb and hitting a tree you probably damaged private or public property.

You kinda see where i'm going with tihs?

The cop just tied all of those togteher. it's my understanding that cops are required to issue a citiation at all accidents they investiate. It's very hard for you to have an accident and not break a law.

I got one for failure to yeild. I was going down the ramp and the whole thing was ice. so I couldnt without losing control the car just happened to be a cop though. I went to court and challenged it. I won because my dads friend is an attorney and helped me get out of it. Ice is a bunch of crap what did they give you? Negligant driving?

You were driving too fast for the road conditions. Hence, the neg driving ticket.

You may think, "Bullshit, I wasn't driving too fast," but you did lose control because of the ice, i.e. road conditions.

^^ ya... we could sit here and find probably 15 or more things they could slap you with. while the cop made a bad day even worse.... which makes him a ****...... but he could have been a bigger one.

My friend was driving home from work late one night and as he was coming off the interstate just outside of town and his tire blew out. He lost control and rolled the car 3 or 4 times. It was a single car accident involving nothing more than him rolling into a ditch but they still gave him a fine for destroying public property because apparently he took out a mile marker or something stupid like that. The law is gay sometimes.

O no,
I understand I got it, but I assumed my car could handle driving 10mph in the snow. But it went off coarse.
I didn't know it was a 'I can't find a good ticket for you so heres this one' kind of ticket. But whatever. It happened and him not butt hurt about it at all.
