When Do the points get put back on or off or however you want to look at it. Is it 2 years after the citation date or 2 years after the conviction date. And then it's 3 years for insurance correct?

You don't get points taken away, you accumulate them.

yup it's citation... however they are not applied until the conviction... this is important to know if you are close to the max number of points and you are waiting for points to fall off.

Not true, at least in my case. When I lost my license for "thee years" a while back, it all happened because the points were applied at the time of the crime, and not when the conviction was done with.

it doesn't even get processed by the DMV until you pay the fine or plead guilty.

Oh no I'm not talking about that. Once mine was processed, it went back to however many points I had at the time of the crime, which was much higher then when I was convicted. Next thing I know I get a damn letter in the mail....
