I want to buy a complete one to swap parts over to my '93 coupe. Motor/trans/interior/etc.... So buying a wrecked one is perfect for me, and a complete one for $7k would be killer.

This is the car before they put a ice box and fuel system on it and the KB. I got dyno sheets i think they must of got it tuned and got up to 512 on the ported blower. havent found a video with the kb

The 2.4s are pretty plain compared to the 2.8s massive looking front end. I think "Kenne Bell" is stamped on the front of the 2.6 & 2.8s too. I'll find some pictures that you can compare to.

ya the shifter says ****ing fast...i think its a 2.4. Now i got another questions how the hell do i take of the rear diff. cover. It has the red brace on it. i unbolted the exhuast and still wont help its to tight???

Diff brace, nice!

You can take the whole pumpkin out in like an hour if you just take off the rear brakes, axles, driveshaft, and exhaust. That is the easiest way. The axle nut is 36mm.

I was listening to those two Eaton dyno pulls, and it seems like the car went through the RPMs quicker than it should with stock 3.55s. I wonder if it has lower gears maybe?

That's bad ass that you start off with a Kenne Bell right off the bat. I'd take it down to Dan as soon as you get the car fixed up and have him tune it up. I wouldn't be surprised if he found 600whp in there. It would be interesting to see how up to date that fuel system is.

wow IRS is gay...took me all dam day to get the rear apart....If i would of done it right the first time...i just tried tipping the diff at first. Got alot dont this weekend...it will be ready for frame machine this week

well the car is back together. diff. seal changed, new rear brakes....All back together will be ready for frame shop this week....I found the old owner...took a little while but found him. He said a guy bought it from a dealer new, then put the KB 2.4 on it with supporting mods, i.e 42lb injectors, JLT, and blue moto pullies. The guy i bought it from added a diff exhaust, the borlas that are on it now. He put the 2 inch springs, IRS brace, Predator tune & MAF extender, and misc other bolt ons. dyno- and pro. tuned he got 615rwhp. The car was wrecked b4 and when it was wrecked he had a built engine in it that put out 800hp...but then he got it fixed and put the orginal engine back in (the one with the kb). So the engine has prob. 15k miles.......... I am thinking about putting bigger injectors in it. then maybe some headers on it in the future and that will be it. or any other ideas? throttle body, MAF?

I did jasons last set with the motor out of the car and it was still a PITA. never again will i put on a set

Brook knows more than I do but I don't think headers would be worth it for the small gain on HP. Plenty of high HP cobras running stock manifolds. There are better mods to spend the money on.

You are right to a certain point, Paul, but longtubes have really proved to flatten out the Cobra's torque curve, along with raising the powerband below the curve. It's one of those things that makes you question the value when looking at peak numbers only, but real life track results would probably prove otherwise. I know Mac makes great Terminator headers for the money.

If this was MY car, I honestly don't think I would spend money on headers right off the bat. IMO one of the greatest overlooked mods for the 03/04 is the gearing (surprise surprise coming from me, right? haha). The Cobra's T-56 has a pretty stretched out 1st gear to make up for the tight 2nd & 3rd, which kills your out-of-the-hole thrust. Obviously with the T-56's otherwise tight gearing (and the car's bad ass torque curve), your kinda limited on choices before you start blowing right by your usable torque. I'd swap those 3.55s out for 3.90s just so I could dramatically improve my 60'. In your case the car isn't lacking power by any ****ing means, so I'd concentrate more on the 60'. Sorry about writing a damn book here, but I'm bored.

Honestly I wouldn't do **** (power gain wise) until I got it on the rollers to see just how dialed in the car is. :shrug:

Edit: I found an article on a Terminator gear swap. It went from 12.7s to 11.9s (along with freeing up 30whp in other areas) after swapping the 3.55s for 3.73s.

That is the beautiful thing about IRS. You can hook HARD without any modifications. 1.5 60's isn't uncommon on stock IRS. That is something that can't be said about solid axle setups. It's no secret that the weak link in the IRS is half shafts though. The main key that has been proved over and over is to use tires with a very flexible sidewall if you are hooking hard. There are quite a few low 10 second stock half-shaft Cobras utilizing that setup, and of course there are many in the 9s using level 5 axles. Here is a video of a stock half-shaft IRS Cobra running 10.1s with a 1.4 60'.

Some of the common things to do right off the bat is to weld in some subframe connectors, then swap out the sloppy IRS bushings. That will make a huge difference. SVT put in better bushings on the 03-04s compared to the previous 99/01s, but they still sucked. Price doesn't matter on the subframe connectors. I bought the cheapest ones I could find, and they worked awesome. Here is some of the **** I would buy if it were my car:

3.73s or 4.10s

4.10s are too steep for the car's solid powerband & transmission ratio. I would probably go with Motive 3.90s to close that 1st gear gap the best I could without overdoing my other gears. You shouldn't have a problem finding the 3.90s for around $160 shipped. Personally I think 3.73s are outshined by the 3.90s in Terminators. It will really make that car a hell of a lot easier to launch.

I got 60lb injectors on its way. I looking at MAF and CAI/ then that will be it for now. I called up to olstons and they got a quarter and passenger door and front radiator supprt for under 1k. So i will be taking the car to the frame shop in about two weeks.

update....Jlt intake, 60lb injectors are awaiting install might not be using 60lb injectors now so kind of a waste of money...might need bigger! car did make it to frame shop with parts....My goal is to get it all done by cruise night hoepfuly i can do it....and ya did do a little blower upgrade

unless you are using a mammoth and 24PSI you don't need bigger than 63# injectors. BAP and 63's will support 900RWHP.

I got a quick pic...when i was at the shop...the wrong a/c condesor came in so i couldnt get the front clip together. The car will hopefully be together by thursday. I went with a different paint job, wasnt for sure i was gonna like it, but it came out great.

Ordered boost a spark, and return fuel system(hope the money is worth it) then once it gets installed I will be ready for tune. hoping to get around 700 once i get all that installed. then maybe add a little juice but we will see what it puts out for hp first.

didnt have to pull the engine it was an easy fix. Planing on getting fuel system installed sometime in feb/march. then a tune and it will be ready for the summer.

updated: still the way it was 5 months ago, yes and collecting dust, plans june(install fuel system) then tune, then for a night in lincoln doing a couple runs then back in the garage for a couple years

how much research was done on the fuel system and what are his goals hp wise? i think it not be enough with only a dual setup if hes planning for over 700, unless he upgraded pumps, i could be wrong though

with the power your making / going to make, i would do a triple if i were you although u can do a double if you upgrade the pumps to 340s if youre going to be in the 750whp range. as far as i know a lot of peoples fuel systems were put on hold as fore was the only company that made the fuel hat. lethal should be having their Divison X roll out soon, otherwise its a waiting game. from what i read its from the designers of fore, just with a different name, since they closed their doors. what spark plugs will you be running and what are you gaping them at?

Considering your running a 2.8 KB, and you haven't dyno'd yet, i would suggest spending money on a badass set of stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8" Kooks LT headers and there x pipe. that should net you another easy 30hp. i'd do that before i bought half shafts
