OK this boarders my other questiosn but i'm honestly curious.
this is more directed at autos. But when i had my t/a the tranny took a **** while i was coming back at old school... it would limp forward a lil but it was pretty much doomed to spend the night at old school... It would free rev and moved fowards a lil so I was hoping for the best and bought some lucas tranny fluid... suppose to stop slip and what not... So I added some and well nothing... lol taking it in to be rebuilt it was confirmed no tranny additive in the world was goin to fix it... not even supertec
So i was in my garage yesterday and i seen the additive and started wondering.. what in it makes it "work" & why is it better than my reg. tranny fluid.
I then wondered after seeing a post about the slushbox brook owns... if some tranny add. would resolve such a problem.
Thoughts?

A buddy of mine from kearney had is trans. start slipping on his GTP. He dumped in some Lucas additive stuff, and got another 9 months out of it. I don't know why it works though....it's thicker maybe??

Any additives are not fixes! They are preventitives!

trans-medic is your friend its made by gunk..........i know i know but trust me that **** works. When i bought the lil red express the tranny slipping put that **** in and it still shifts great, same way with my ram it had 55k on it and the tranny was slipping 10+ years and 130k later it shifts perfect still the factory tranny too and a few fluid and filter changes but once again that crap worked.

Additives are not fixes! If your trans. was slipping and putting that stuf in made it not slip it was definetly a fluid issue and flushing and servicing it would have fixed the issue anyway. Adding mechanic in a can will not fix cut seals, worn drums, sealing rings, etc.

^^ pretty much true. manufacturers spent plenty of time on these fluids to work with their trannys, and dumping stuff like that in just messes up what they spent time on.... same with oil additives...

I agree with what your saying. There are some good additives for prolonging fluid life and such but it is no repair by any means.
