We use Spanel Engines and Jon Wischmann. I would suggest for a Honda that you call Jon. Spanel is awesome but doesnt really like the import stuff. Schmidt would be good too but they are in Fairbury.
Any one of these 3 would be a good choice.

HAHAHA.... who wants story time of why I WOULD NOT go to Gessfords...... they may be some billy bad asses when it comes to v8. but aparently they are below par on the 4g63 and the motor was assembled by someone making more power on a 4g63 that anyone on this board. I wont even go into the pricing issue with them. Adam you talk alot of **** for having NOTHING.

Guess im not the only one.... but wait, Adam knows the guy has flawless work since he has had all his **** done there....*roll eyes*.... The difference between the guys in france and paris and **** and the locals are the pocket books. Sure my machine work was "expensive" to me...but to someone else that would be pocket change and he cant afford to lose them customers so they know damn well not to **** it up.

You cannot go wrong with Wischman or Spanel. Any import stuff I would say Wischman tho. Spanel is more old school.

Labor is free, but you have to wait forever for them to get to you. You also have to pay like %15 markup on parts, which is no big deal given the labor is free.
I was unaware that they did machine work for the public though? I thought it was just the normal Auto classes that offered that. Automotive machine work isn't even a regular credit class. The only way I think they would do it is if they had the entire car there and did an engine rebuild as part a students engine class.

The engine maching class is a continuing eduacation class, like $140 for however they set the class up. We had it one night a week for 6 weeks.
The part thing is just for 'live work' done at the college. They want any part sold on car to go through the part store at the college. The engine class is sepserate from that, most of what Jerry get is from Northern Automotive, and thier prices are great.
They do not have equipment to balance or grind cranks, or shot peen. But other than that, they have what you need.

I know this... Went to Milford and Lincoln campus for Automotive, also been through both machining classes about 8 years ago. What I was getting at is it's not very practical for someone that needs one thing done. It's more of an educational class that allows you to do a project. Just not very time effective. It was lots of fun though!
