How do you launch Beans? Just rev it up to a certain RPM, slip it, and ride out?...or do you more or less just drop the clutch at whatever RPM?
Also what's your clutch set up? Sprung or Un-Sprung? 4 or 6 puck or solid face?

He has a 2 step, slips and rides it out, and has a sprung 6 puck.

ok just wondering..sounds like the same set-up i have (except i dont have a 2-step). I've just been wondering bc i cant seem to really launch my car hard like i could with my set up before (going from a non-sprung 6 puck to a sprung 6 puck). And its different driving with a lighter Fidanza flywheel as well.
I cant seem to launch and stick hard to the ground, i either bog bad or just end up breaking loose and the back end skipping around.

How much are you slipping it?

i usually just quick rev it to 4k then as soon as i feel the car start to roll forward (and the RPM starts to drop) i snap the clutch out the rest of the way and go WOT. With my old set up it would take off like a bat out of hell, now as soon as i go WOT i just tire hop and the back end skirts around until i hit 2nd. Then i'm out of the power band and out of boost and just **'d

I know but my clutch is so damn grabby. But it is a stage 4 SouthBend disk with stage 4 pressure plate  a bit overkill but i basically stole it ($200 for a brand new disk, $75 for a used pressure plate that didn't even have any heat checks in it).

So its a sprung street disc?
Mits3kGT
12th November 2009, 08:12 PM
Ehh sorta...It's technically called the Southbend DXD B-Series (stage 4). And is under there "track" category. 6-puck Sprung.

Sounds unnecessary

Completely unnecesary you're correct. But for the price i jumped on it..a $600+ clutch set up and i had maybe $300 in it after shipping. The pressure plate should last forever, the clutch disk is what i'm worried about since its a "track" clutch. I was worried about how well it'd hold up for city driving but so far so good.
