It's time to welcome another newb! My name's Ryan, I'm from Lincoln. I have a '91 Mustang LX w/ a 347 Stroker, '01 Durango R/T and an '86 S-10. I was on the old SCR.com and finally migrated over.

those better not be really numbers in your sig, cause I put down 20 less than that on a COMPLETELY stock engine

and more tq

but welcome

Those are real numbers that were put down on a Mustang Dyno a couple of weeks ago. It was pulling an A/F ratio of 17:1, so once I get that problem taken care of, the numbers should go up 20-30 hp (according to Tom at C&S Motorsports) and it's in desperate need of a good tune.

Do you have a head, cam, and intake package on the 347 or just stock components with the 347?

LXTASY
28th October 2007, 03:53 PM
I'm not really sure, because I bought the car with all the work done and the kid I bought it from didn't do the work either, his brother did. I've been told the heads are stock off of a Lincoln, I think it has a mild cam and it has the GT-40 intake.

Could have, but I have receipts from Charlie's Speed Shop for building a 347.

Your A/F was 17:1 wtf? Are you trying to convert it to a lean burn Honda?

LXTASY
29th October 2007, 05:48 PM
Yep, A/F was 17:1. Part of it was from an exhaust leak, but it's just messed up. Once I get the exhaust fixed, it will go back to the dyno so see what the problem really is.

17:1 at what RPM?

sounds like a recipe for disaster

He doesn't have enough fuel to make an explosion at that point I think haha.

LXTASY

Made the pull from 2231-5231 rpm. Leanest was 17.9:1 @2431 and richest was 16.0:1 @4831

wow.....i assume you are not actually driving it around like that?

LXTASY
29th October 2007, 10:42 PM
actually right now i am, if i blow something up it will just be another reason to put something better in it.

does anybody have any ideas of what problem might be? my first thought is that the fuel system is still stock and just isn't enough. any other thoughts?

get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and turn the pressure up.

Wow, 347 with stock heads, holy **** what a piece.

that thing has to be slow as aides

but on the bright side at least heads and a diff intake and you could make some good power.

decent place to start from. I saw you driving a while back it is pretty clean looking tho

Overall, it's not a bad car, it doesn't have any rust, just a few dents and dings, and the paint is in pretty good shape. I'm planning to tear the motor apart this winter so that I can hopefully find out more specs on everything, and once I get some extra cash, I'll get a set of AFR 205s and a Trick Flow intake.

We had this same discussion 6 months ago or so when he signed up on scr. Sounds like some ass sold you a stock 5.0 and flashed some receipts for a 347 in another car.

wrap the jaws of a pair of vise-grips with duct tape so they don't puncture anything, and clamp off your return line before you ruin that motor.
