I bought the car wrecked about 6 months ago. Light front end hit. I bought a 01 cobra and used that car for my bags. I still had to buy a front bumper, headlights, header panel, fog lights and radiator. I was planing on selling it but i drove it to cruise night and enjoyed the car. Planing on pulling the engine and trans. Put a stage 2 clutch in it, long tube headers, full exhuast( looking at borla stinger) and doing some minor susp. mods. I already have a smaller pulley and tensior to put on it just havent had time.

I dont like the feel of the stock clutch. Its still good. If I went into the whole engine now i would have a **** ton of money in the car and i dk if i want to do that right now.

Unless he is planning on making 1,500whp, internal work on a '03 Cobra isn't exactly necessary....

The only true weak link in the 03-04 motors is the pistons. The ringlands will melt. So what most people do is just upgrade the pistons and while they do that they hog it out to a 300 ci motor. Cams are okay, but they don't give enough HP to justify the cost. Kind of like doing headers. The overall gain is less thab 15 HP to the wheels and there a son of a ***** to put on.
As long as he has adiquate fuel to run the boost he wants, he should have no problems. Keep the tuning decent and A/F at no more than 11.8/1 across the board. He can run anywhere from 16-25* timing depending on what he wants to run for boost and what type of fuel he wants to run. :Thumb:

Why would you do that???
A SRA would be a wise move for the build you are wanting, but not needed right this second.
You can get a fully built 8.8 SRA with control arms for what you can get for your IRS pretty close to straight across..

no i have sold the 01 IRS. Some guy put it in a fox body. When i pull the engine I might just replace the piston. And i was wondering if its worth porting out the S/C like people say or not? I looked at cams but i just dk what to do. Once i put money in cams then i will have to do valves and springs then i get into the heads so i think i might just leave it how it is.

The car is torn apart. The new cradle is installed to the motor. Headers and exhaust will be bolted on tomorrow. Pulleys will be the next step once the motor is back in the car.
