Hey whats up everyone? Well I thought I would introduce myself, my name is Devin and I own a 1997 camaro z28 with boltons besides a CAI. My car has long tube headers from Pacesetter coated and a Pacesetter un-coated y-pipe with a custome made turndown by Doug Mr. Muffler here in Lincoln, Nebraska. I am also a member on LS1TECH username- blk97z28. I was told about this site by a friend of mine Baker, and a couple other guys that I know. Full tune was done at Dynosport by Dyno Dan in Lincoln, Nebrasaka

check out the Lloyd Elliot heads/cam packages, guy on this board make 380whp w/ the stage 2 kit and it was only about 1500-1600 dollars.....AKA ****IN CHEAP

I just don't understand, and yes an opti can cause problem on my VERY first dyno run at 5800 RPM my torque went down to 100 RWTQ now it is at bout 293 at 5800 so I don't see what your problem is. stock pressure sensors are just fine... Corvettes have digital ones and the overly complicated design of them makes them weak at high PSI. i've modified the firewall to allow easy changing of the sensor. i was a 2 hour project now its' a 20min.

previous: cold idle- 50 psi , warm idle - 40 psi,
now: cold idle - 45 psi, warm idle 29-30 psi

its still good oil pressure...however, the fact that its changed and its the same oil and hasn't been changed (only about 1500 miles on change, so im bout to change it again), I'm wondering whats going on with the oil itself. An analysis shouldn't be more than 15-20 dollars.

I've read that Mobil 1's oil quality has slowly gotten worse over the years. I'm wondering if maybe its an example of premature breakdown? I know I abuse my car but 1500 miles seems a bit much.

this is the 2nd post from you that i've seen you talking about oil... There is a reason GM and other major manufactures factory fill their cars with mobil one.. there is a reason that over half of nascar uses mobil one. So where ever you are getting this mobil one is crap bullshit i'd leave it there. what i was sayin gabout oil level is if your oil level is down you might notice a drop in pressure. This could be cause from sucking oil through your PCV. spending as much time at 6krpms as you do will result in some oil loss.

So what do you expect to learn from switching oil? Do you have some method to show hp gain or a matrix to show the different levels of protection? IF your concerned about oil pressure you can always get another guage and hook up and see if your sensor is showing accurate readings. I believe the min. psi for an LS1 is 18 or 20psi. So long as you have that much your not gonna break anything.

I miss the car. I really love the 99/01 Cobras. They suck total balls without 4.56s though, thats for sure.

LT1s vary more then a woman on the rag.

I would say your closest estimation would be comparing your car to David's old A4 LT1 Firebird. He put down within 10 hp of your numbers, and was running 14.2's at 98ish mph.

No, auto. I was always confused by his dyno numbers, because A4's usually never lay down anywhere close to 250whp in stock form. It must have been that hacked off muffler. lol
