Im wanting to get new exhaust on my camaro here in the near future (wk or 2). What do you guys think I should go with? I was wanting gmmg but dyno dan pretty much talked me outta that idea. Currently Im leaning towards flowmaster but I cant decide for sure...whatever I go with, the cats will be cut off and just run back from there. Opinions please.
Thanks.

just take the stock muffler off and leave the cats it sounded good on thunders car

Thatd def be cheaper but I want a muffler on it because eventually Ill have long tubes and the cats will be off then...so I figured Id just get them cut off when I get the exhaust put on. Otherwise that prly wouldnt be bad.

I would go with something other then a flow master because they don't flow for ****

Call dougs muffler. He has a couple sets of brand new flowmaster catbacks he needs to get rid of.

flowmaster is the worst exhaust you can put on a 93-02 fbody

not in terms of performance, sound....that is an opinion haha

flowmaster is the most restrictive aftermarket exhaust and some guys have seen negative power gains on the dyno

I would just stay away from it unless you just want sound and got a smoking deal.

Im not too concerned with a gain in power thru a muffler because eventually Ill have long tubes with cut outs and the only reason I like flowmaster is because of the tone but Im trying to keep an open mind about it because it seems like everyone has flowmaster. When I was looking at gmmg (way over priced) I loved the sound of it, but dyno dan told me that it also was one of the worst performance exhausts too

So I went and talked to Doug at dougs muffler today. He said he could get me a flowmaster (80series) all done up for $300...seems too good to be true to me for some reason idk. What do you guys think? Like I said Im not too worried bout the power gain because after I get headers Ill have cut-outs.

where from? and are you talking about just bolting the exhaust up or actually welding it?

cole
1st June 2009, 06:08 PM
register over at ls1tech and check out all the sponsors over there

with a majority of catbacks, no welding is needed...hell, on my last car, none of the exhaust was welded

makes for easy removal if you ever sell, ship, etc.

Yea Ill have to check that out. Do you have any idea of how long it usually takes to ship?
