Carb to Throttle Body

Anyone ever go from carb to throttle body? How did you handle the carbs throttle cable with the throttle body throttle hookup? Are aftermarket throttle bodies set up to use a carb cable?

1979 Dodge D150 Pickup. Working on putting a newer 318 Magnum(fuel injected) engine in it. I think this is my last hurdle, at least conceptually.

You should be able to get a cable for a 90ish truck. Cab should be the same and that will get you to the tb type cable.

Alright cool, I'll check that out. I know I can get a newer VSS and run an electronic speedo, so hopefully a newer cable works for this issue. I think the final year for my "style" of truck is 93(Which does use the Magnum engine), so I'll look at one of those.

Ok I happened to find a throttle cable and pedal assembly on ebay for a 1992 Ram. It looks like I may be able to modify my pedal to accept the new cable.

It would. I've also talked to some dodge guys and the 79 is supposed to have the "new" style pedal. Its just that the top of the peddle is slightly different from the one from the FI engines. For the minor cutting that needs to be done, it would be just as easy to modify it as it would be to put the new pedal in.

See where it has a slot and a hole? My pedal only has a smaller hole. So I would just need to drill it out and cut a slot in the top. Also I believe my pedal assembly is welded to the cab (I'd have to take a closer look, it was dark last night) where as this style bolts to the cab.
