Well my computer is having problems charging. the factory charger for it broke so i bought a targus universal charger. and the adapter i have in there is the one for this model but its a little loose. and i have to have like 20 lbs of pressure on the male part and also has to be at the right angle instead of what should normally be just straight in. anybody wanna take a look at it sometime??

no... its a gateway laptop

Haven't ran across any gateways with the issue but I've sent several HP laptops in for warranty work because the power connector inside the laptop wears out to the point that they will no longer charge unless you hold the power plug in there and sometimes you're lucky for it to charge then. It gradually just gets worse.

If that's the case then you need a new power supply which may justify a new laptop depending on how much they rape you for it. Laptops are hard to price repairs for because parts like that can vary a lot in price and what's involved.

Could just be a funky power cord as well. I guess the question is did your last power cord have this same issue which caused you to buy the new one?

id suggest opening it up and using a soldering gun

well my last power cord didnt work b/c the wire was shredded. i even soldered it back together and it just bad to where it wasnt working anymore. this one works perfectly fine. if i touch my tongue to the tip i can still feel its giving out a charge. but im guessing its the prong thats getting worn out so bad it wont charge.
