So I was working on my gf's car trying to do some small fixes and get it spruced up for the summer. I left my car parked on a side street outside her apartment. I come back around 5 and there is this ticket in my window for Improper Registration - No front plate. The actual plate is behind my vanity plate so yes its actually there it was just covered.
Anyone had anything like this? Isn't usually just a fix-it ticket? What should I do? theres no ****ing way I'm paying for this bullshit!

I would say your best bet is to just show that you are now using a front plate and hope the city attorney lets you off.

i've got 2 fixit tickets for having no front plate at all...first time there was nothing in the front and the second time i had it in my front windsheild but the state p didn't like that either...so now my front plate is zip tied to my front bumper...there was no way in hell i was gonna drill holes into my bumper
it might be a different story tho if your car is registered under one plate and if you another one covering the one your registered with..

I got a $50 + court costs ticket for no front plate 4 years ago, that was after a couple of fix-it tickets. I run a plate now, it just isn't worth the hassle and expense of getting stopped all the time. You will probably have to pay up.

yeah, i think the front plate law is just a reason to pull someone over and hopefully find something else to put against them...
having no front plate is way better but i'm dealing with having a front plate...

I refuse to re-install the front plate bracket and plate on the Caddy. I couldn't care less if the Subaru has one or not.

Well heres what I think I'm gonna do:
Put my front plate back on, take a picture of it on.
Put the vanity plate on over the plate, take a picture to show the plate behind the vanity plate.
Tell him I just got done talking with a police officer about having a vanity plate and say the officer said it was ok if the vanity plate could be taken off if asked.

I got the same ticket a long time ago.
I just went in and talked to the county attorney and told her I was waiting for a new bracket to come in because my old one broke, she dropped it then and there.

u are probably thinking one of those customized plates. This is actually a vanity plate, not a real license plate.

you don't have a vanity plate grant.
you have a front plate delete panel.

I got pulled over about three weeks ago...IN MY GARAGE!!! for no front plate:joe: Two cops get out and act like they are doing a drug bust. The lady cop says "You know why I pulled you over?" I said "You pulled me over?" She replied "Yes I did, you don't have a front license plate!" I point to the wall in my garage where my plate is hanging and say "Oh look at that, there it is!" She and her partner start pouting and she mumbles something as she gets in her car and drives off into the sunset....:woot:
