Alright I've been working on this car over the winter, originally purchased it with the intent of rebuilding it and selling it, but now I am thinking I will probably keep it for a while.

Pictures taken before I added the wheels.

I have about $2000-$2500 to put into it over spring, and I'll be painting it and doing something else (Probably some nice aftermarket heads). I've been replacing the interior piece by piece over the last couple months, just about perfect inside.

I'm also considering running a 75 shot to wake it up a little bit, but it will be on a conservative tune if I do.

Future plans for spring/summer
-Cobra front
-Paint
-Heads
-Retinting the windows
-Opting up to a touchscreen to control the system

i thought you were getting an LS1? and a new DD v6 mustang?

KyleJ

Nooo idea where the V6 dd came from, but all the Ls1's I looked at were beat to ****, and not worth the money. Everyone thinks they are worth gold.

I am really not looking to sell right now guys, could MAYBE do a trade later on for diesel truck or Ls1 6 speed. Cash to add but at this time really not looking to sell.

My girlfriend is rather attached to it.

Are you sure it hasn't been sprayed? Plus, it has the exact same stuff as a black 94 that was for sale on craigslist a while back...

Let me know if I can help. I've got the weird parts if you want to do a dry kit the right way (boost fuel pressure instead of spraying on the maf).

It is the car that was on Craigslist. When I bought her, she was very very sick. I completely dis-assembled the motor and rebuilt it over the winter with parts I had left from when I put my fox back to stock when I sold it. It came with a kit sealed in a box, and I took all the pieces out, him-hawed around with it and sold the kit. Bottle was never mounted, lines were never ran. I don't know if it saw spray before I owned it but it has never seen a power adder since it has been mine, or since it has been rebuilt.

TJ: I'll be talking to you about this come spring. I am very interested in spraying it, but not 100% sure yet. I'd love the help too.

your sig from ness:
Mustang is gone, Mercedes is going, and the Ls1 is on its way...
that's what I was thinking of, and I could've sworn you said somewhere you got a v6 sn for a DD

if you can't afford cole's, or one in similar condition, just keep the mustang, 5.0 right?

Only to someone who thinks its just a solenoid and line to the nozzle in the intake with no safety features, then yes, its unsafe.

how does it run with the cam and heads?(idle and driveability) Did you get it tuned? Did you get new seats?

Cam and heads (They are just stock ported heads that came on my fox) is pretty good. The Lunati lopes pretty well, makes good power, but it has good street manners. I wouldn't say it's any worse than an E303. I have not had a tune yet, I'm waiting to go with bigger heads and possibly spray before I have it tunes. I am in the process of replacing my Drivers seat, and possibly the passenger if I can get a deal on a pair but it only needs the drivers done.

ok so spiking the fuel pressure is even better? fat chance. ever heard of an fmu? same idea. its called a band aid.

fail.

My long term with the car is actually to run 11's on a single turbo setup. I had all the hotside parts made/bought but then I had to sell the setup to pay for a new motor. :(

Yep. Its a whole lot better than guessing you're hitting the maf. Or if you're looking at a wet kit, you've got to **** with tuning out lean spikes and you have more of a chance of intake backfires.

Throwing straight fuel into your intake is a band-aid. Do people do that with turbos when their injectors can't provide enough fuel? No, they tune that **** out and buy bigger injectors. Talk about band-aids.

there are so many things wrong with this statement that i dont know where to start.

now as you brought up injecting fuel into the intake in some cases (IE: mustang upper intakes) is a bad idea as it could puddle and cause an explosion. but at the same time with a dry shot you are taking a gamble with the fact you are pushing your fuel pump well past the operating pressures it was designed for. therefor ultimately decreasing the amount of fuel it can supply.

an FMU is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. A google link for your reading

just go megasquirt and use it to add the extra fuel. profit

11th March 2009, 10:41 PM
Lol. I've already talked to Kyle about a 255lph pump and 24lb injectors. You'd have to buy those anyways if you wanted to run a dry kit with a megasquirt.

Megasquirt would be best, but on a budget and he only wants to do a 75 shot, its overkill. The 05115 NOS kit for the 5.0's are great kits for just what he wants.

Yeah TJ and I have talked it over quite a bit, and I am going to do it the right way. My car has to be VERY reliable so I'm not going to take any short cuts on this stuff. I have learned a lot about spray from him and I trust him with my car on the subject.
