I've been working on this thing for a while, like 3 years now. Got pumped up to put a thread together by looking at a couple other threads on here, so here it is.
The truck started as a stock 1971 K10, rust everywhere. Bought it for $1800 about 5 years ago, with intensions of redoing the whole thing. I drove it every day for about 2 years.
The cab was junk, had rust on the roof and firewall. I got another cab and collected all the other parts I needed and then stripped all the rusty stuff off.

Bought this truck at an auction, parted it out... got the Big block and all the brackets and pulleys to make it work in my K10, sold the rest at swap meets and such actully made all my money back on it.

This is where it sat forever, with all the major bodywork done... I thought it just needed a couple good coats of primer, block sanded and painted. I was wrong. Me and Mike (shevelle6t9) spend about 6 months and about 1,000 busch light tallboys to get it in primer and all blocked out.

Its painted now, just need to get some new pics.
Next plans for it are to get the bed rhino lined, get new tires, maybe about a 2.5" lift? and maybe this summer rebuild the big block and put it in. I would like to find a D60 and 14bolt for it, but probly never will.

I love 67-72 Chevy trucks. Are you looking to keep everything stock apperearing under the hood? If not I found a slick way to put SBC serpentine accessories on a BBC. Let me know and I'll find the info again for you.

I'm not sure what I'll do under the hood yet... Right now its bone stock, save for the older 327 intake I put on when I rebuilt the motor (easier to fill with oil than the gay one under the master cylinder)
I kind of want to leave it stock appearing, just becasue I've never had the self control to leave stuff alone. If it gets a lift, and I actully put a BBC in I'll probly do a bunch of stuff to it.

I did get carried away. All I wanted was a truck that wasn't rusty, and this one was turning out pretty nice and I've never had a old vehicle that was actully nice, so I kind of went all out.
I have another one I can beat on, and all I ever do to the Nova is beat on it so I dont have anything to worry about. I can afford to break **** all the time like you guys anyway, so I wont miss not going to tuttle creek and everything.

Maybe il snap some pics of it tomarrow and post them up. For what the truck was when you drove it in to the garage (bullet holes in the door) to what it is now i am very happy to say i helped work on it. By far the nicest car/truck iv done to date.

What have we ever broke? Just a axle or 10.

I blew a tire off the bead. Cost me one can of warm Budweiser (used as lubricant to pop the tire back on the rim), a new ratchet strap (used to sinch the tire tight against the bead) and a two pack of valve stems from Wal Mart.

breaking axles isn't cheap, maybe for you guys who have 5 parts trucks but I don't want to buy used axles all the time. I also have gay 3.07 gears... hard to find, and is shitty offroad.
I'd like to get a cheap pos 73+ and put together a truck I can use for hauling crap, and for playing in the mud... hillbilly does have one for sale:shock:

I does. Buy a 3/4 ton this time. Hell I might even know where a pre 73 3/4 ton 4x4 is. Body is **** but maybe you have a spare or 20.

If I were to get a 67-72 K20... it would have to be a 71-72... dont want drum brakes in the front, or closed knuckles, or a rockwell t-case... ect. I had a pretty decent 69 K20, with newer axles in it but sold it about 4 years ago. I still wish I would have kept it.
And I dont care about the body.. I do have shitloads of parts, but no decent cab which is usually the worst part.. what is the truck you know of?

Just put spark plugs in place of the glow plugs, change your fuel pump to a gas fuel pump, and fill'er up with gas:Thumb:

And yes, I'm a huge pussy for having a cover for my truck. I laugh to myself about it to, but I spend to much on the body to let birds **** on it.

It's a bone stock original 350... so insanely fast, I had to put a throttle stop on it to keep the wheels on the ground.
