I bought a 91 Eagle Talon TSI http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa268/yngvar_album/DSC00569.jpg
Then right away my ECU took a **** because of the caps leaking. Sent it off got it back and the car ran much better. Next problem my header cracked so I had to find some thing to replace it with and when putting on a manifold why not but on a new turbo.http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa268/yngvar_album/DSC01456.jpg
new garrett next to the cheap ebay turbo that came on the car. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa268/yngvar_album/DSC01460.jpg

How much boost do you run?

ali

so far 15, which isnt much.

In my experience and others from research they don't seem to hold up well under higher boost. I know I was running in to issues as low as 26 psi with it pushing coolant. After going through 3 of them I decided to ditch Cometic. I know stock ones will hold more than that as long as the tune is good and are more forgiving on the surface prep which is why I was really disappointed with the Cometic. It seemed like a downgrade.

I have heard good things about the mitsubishi mls gaskets.

Not saying cometic's aren't good in other applications, I just haven't been impressed with them in the 4g63's.

Then a powerwashed semi clean engine bay with the head off.

Finally the car is running and now it has a bad exhaust leak between the head and manifold. I think the shitty turbonetics manifold is warped. Also found out that the engine has been rebuilt recently and was bored 20 over.

My old o2 housing was leaking and it was running 3in pipe into a 2.5in flange so I thought I would try and make I new one. I know I suck at arch welding.

Well I finally got my car on the road for americruise and it ran great and I love the car. Then the DSM curse struck me down when my motor mount broke into peaces. So I ordered some new ploy ones, and I still need to figure out my ignition break up issue. When I tried Kelvins ECU the car ran perfect and then I tried DSM Mikes old ECU and my car ran worse then ever so I don't know what to do now.

Yngvar

Finally fixed the ignition break up issue. It was in the wiring harness were the previous owner cut the **** out of it and used crimp connectors to put some of them back together and others were just taped together. So I pulled the dash out, removed the harness, and soldered all the wires that were cut back together. Also removed a bunch of random wires from under the dash that had no point. The car now needs to get the injectors tuned in since I put some 1000cc's in and it should be good to go.

Seemed like a clean shell.

It didn't have rust but it had been side swiped, and had front end damage from an accident before I got it. Also every body panel looked like someone hit it with a hammer, the inter is shot, and smells like rat ****. Can't forget that the previous owner hacked the **** out of the wiring in the car which was 90 percent of my problems I had with the car. Garret will be getting the engine out of the car an I hope it goes to sever him well because that was the best thing about this car and the mods that came with it.
