Didn't know where to put this.

Long story short, the truck could climb up a raised parking lot, Jeep could not. :joe: I fubar'd the transfercase crossmember and the nuts/threads for the crossmember bolts. Its welded up there right now(its worked fine for a few years now) but ideally I'd like to be able to unbolt it/bolt on a new/improved transfercase crossmember from one of the JeepForum vendors as well as make it easier to install my 242

Any way to fix this? :)

Is this a serious question? Retap the threads....

In refrence to grey03gt you can't...

I did the same thing awhile ago. It was more or less a good foot bump though. Which was my own stupidity. What I'm going to do is cut out the nut/washers that are in the unibody and just weld studs and put nuts on the bottom half.

and btw.. I don't lower my transmission when i take out my tcase. Just get a stubby and put all your weight into getting the bolt out on top.

So the crossmember is bent?

It was, until I got a new one a couple of years ago.

That's a good idea

The "nuts" that were in the unibody were ripped out, there is nothing to retap

Right now I only have 3 out 12 bolts in. Yeah unsafe? I will end up welding the studs and trying to figure a way thats good for the tanny but haven't decided on that one yet.
