What do you make of this? Car ran fine, not blowing any smoke or anything. Just a little more white and a hint of red I don't quite prefer. Timing just a hair off maybe?

the reddish tint is usually from gas additives. it looks to me like it was detonating. are the specks on there aluminum?

Don't know. I pitched them already. The only additives I've ever run was a bottle or two of injector cleaner, but I can only count twice that I've done that. I do like those plugs though. Alot. They were just standard bosch supers. No platinum ****.

The red is from octane, my plugs are all red. They look as if they are glowing red hot. What octane do you run.

Nothing but premium. 92-93 in iowa where I fill up. Either shell or amoco.

Yep that explains the red color premium fuel causes it. Don't wory about it.

hey we agree for once. lol.
what ever **** they dump in premium gas causes the reddish tint but you either had too much timing or running lean because they look like they were way too hot. if the plug is somewhat clean there should be a slight heat discoloration around the bend of the ground strap if its running correctly. this is easier to see sometimes than the color of the ceramic.

That plug looks just fine Justin. Nice color, the discoloration of the ground strap is split right in the center of the angle. There might have been some detonation since those specks on the center electrode look like they could be aluminum.
On second though, how the hell did you manage to get the threads that dirty on a plug that has a tapered seat? That's not right.

It's a copper based antiseize that dried on there.
