This open header thing is probably only pissing off the neighbors and blowing out your ear drum. Doesn't bother me though :)

don't think theres a mandrel bender in town, you could order your bends and have everything welded up though.

i'm not sure why you want a y-pipe, i have one and i really want an x or even an h and would be willing to trade my Y and catback if interested in some kind of swap.
but miller456 also had one for sale, i can ask if he still has it if interested. he was looking to sell his catback too

Really goin to have to agree..... you won't notice a difference. I'm assuming dougs machine doesn't do true mandrel bends, but his 3" bends i've seen look nice, and don't have the crushed ripples. The headache isn't worth the 2hp.

The Crushed Ripples are found on crush bent pipe. Press bent will neck down the pipe. A 3" 90* bend really does lose a lot of volume, I could take pics of my intake pipe, just to show how much.

**** with all the mandrel bend hate I should rip all the exhaust off my truck and get it crushed.

i'd say not having a mandrel bend is kind of like having a few small kinks in a hose.
but in an exhaust setup i would say you wouldn't see much of a difference till you start making some big numbers.

Most people on this board aren't making enough power to notice the difference between crush bent, and mandrel bent.

I bet the differences in pipe would show up on my car, not saying its making mad HP, just that the turbo spoolup time would be longer and thus offer less power under the curve.

i tried to get doug to put in a test pipe in place of the cat before i had headers and he said no. I have my cat back in the bacment but it is cut up from when i removed it. And muffler has a rattle at idle from a baffle that broke off inside.

No, I have an off road y now. But when my exhaust was stock i was going to have a off road pipe welded in place of the cat.
